Dickon (BHSI) and Sarah Carus (BHSI (SM) are both passionate about training horses and riders. Previously to opening Club Equestrian in 2003 they both trained students for BHS exams and managed equine courses at Myerscough College. Between them over the years they have trained riders and horses that have achieved great success in eventing, showjumping and dressage. Their 17yr old son Ben is a keen
show jumper and a part of the team at Club Equestrian, whilst Tom their younger son is more likely to be spotted in the MPower studio next door! From a non horsey background Sarah wanted to give children attending riding schools the best foundation to progress to the highest level in their riding, whilst having fun with friends and enjoying the day to day care of looking after horses. "I have so many wonderful childhood memories and can remember vividly my first riding lesson at the age of 7, including the name of the pony and the instructor, I want our members of Club Equestrian to have memories to treasure. I was very lucky to be able to get my own pony and if some of our young riders are fortunate to get their own pony one day, we want them to know how to care and look after the ponies to the highest standard and keep themselves safe. Our 'Own a Pony' days are a fabulous way for children and parents to get a taste of owning a pony without the financial or time commitment of owning their own pony." Club Equestrian trains riders to be in balance and harmony with their horse. The team of fabulous ponies look after their riders, allowing them to progress and gain in confidence quickly. "We want our riders to feel they are progressing and achieving so riders can work towards achievement rosettes, pony club badges and attend our show days. We give a rider of the month award and best kept pony award each month." Visit www.club-equestrian.co.uk for details of holiday clubs, summer camps and activities. Club Equestrian welcomes children of 4 yrs upwards to join the club and become part of the Club Equestrian Team :)
