Yoga with Robyn every Sunday at Embers Dance Studio in Leyland 🤍
5–6pm | All levels welcome

These classes are a space to move, breathe, reset, release the week gone by, and gently flow into the next feeling grounded and inspired ⛅️

Whether you’re completely new to yoga or already deep into your practice, I would LOVE to welcome you onto the mat 🙏

🌹 Little Embers Nursery Rhyme Origins 🌹

This week in Little Embers Baby Ballet our tiny dancers are twirling in circles to Ring Around the Roses.

This rhyme has been sung by children for hundreds of years. One popular theory links it to the time of the Great Plague of London, when people carried flowers called “posies”.

🌹 Ring around the roses
🌼 A pocket full of posies
🤧 A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
💫 We all fall down!

Historians aren’t completely sure if the rhyme really came from this time, but the game has been enjoyed by generations of children.

In our classes, it becomes a joyful moment where our little dancers circle together before the big giggly “fall down!” at the end.

Because sometimes the best part of dancing… is falling down and laughing together.

🕷️ Little Embers Nursery Rhyme Origins 🕷️

This week our Little Embers Baby Ballet dancers are climbing, stretching and reaching with Incy Wincy Spider.

The rhyme first appeared in the early 1900s. In America it was called “Itsy Bitsy Spider”, while in the UK it became the much-loved Incy Wincy Spider.

🕷️ The spider climbs the water spout
🌧️ Down comes the rain
☀️ Out comes the sun
⬆️ And the spider climbs again

It’s a lovely story about trying again, which is exactly what our tiny dancers learn as they practise new ballet movements.

In class we climb with our fingers, wiggle like raindrops and stretch tall like sunshine.

Because even the smallest dancers can rise again like the Incy Wincy Spider.

🧚Development Milestones 🧚

We've all heard of them, but did you know that a child only learns to jump with two feet off the ground at 21-24months! Until then, little ones are developing balance, calculating motor control, and building up the bone and muscle strength needed to elevate the body off the ground. That's quite a lot!

Here at Little Embers Baby Ballet, we encourage and celebrate these milestones whilst caring for these tiny, amazing bodies.

We have limited spaces available in both our 10am & 11am Monday classes.
Spaces are extremely limited and taken on a first come basis, so message to book on to our next 6-week term today.

🚣‍♀️ Little Embers Nursery Rhyme Origins 🚣‍♀️

This week our Little Embers Baby Ballet dancers are gently swaying and rowing along to Row Row Row Your Boat.

This much-loved rhyme dates back to the 1800s and was first published in 1852. It was originally sung as a round, where different groups start at different times — creating a beautiful flowing melody.

🚣 Row, row, row your boat
🌊 Gently down the stream
✨ Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
💭 Life is but a dream

The rhyme has a calm, soothing rhythm, making it perfect for little ones to enjoy both movement and music together.

In our classes, we sit and “row” together, gently sway like water and float our arms like the stream.

It’s a lovely way to encourage bonding, rhythm and calm movement — a quieter moment in our magical Little Embers sessions.

Can your little one row their boat with us? 🚣‍♀️✨
