โŒ๏ธ Avoid weight training heavy otherwise you will get bulky. Cardio is the way forward (hmmmm...)

โœ…๏ธ When on a weight loss journey, weight training is KEY! As you build muscle, the increase in muscle mass means a better metabolism. Which a good metabolism means better breakdown of your food resulting in body fat loss.

โŒ๏ธ Skipping meals means you will lose weight.

โœ…๏ธ Skipping meals, slows your metabolism down which results in more body fat being stored in your body. You need to be hitting your protein target, within a calorie deficit and doing all this while eating enough.

โŒ๏ธ Carbs are bad for weight loss

โœ…๏ธ Whole carbs like vegetables, fruits, and whole grains are nutrient-rich and beneficial for weight loss, whereas refined carbs (like white bread and sugary snacks) can spike blood sugar and may contribute to fat storage if consumed in excess.

I've been asked a couple of times about fitness for teenagers.

Teenagers will see so much on social media and be set on how they want to look but it's not all about looking like someone on social media. There are so many benefits to being just a healthy and active teenager, and not having low self-esteem or focusing on body image: ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿฉต Physical Growth and Development: Teenagers are going through rapid physical changes. Regular exercise supports healthy bone, muscle, and cardiovascular development, helping them grow stronger and more resilient.

๐Ÿ’š Mental Health: Physical activity has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression. Exercise triggers the release of endorphins, chemicals in the brain that promote feelings of happiness and well-being.
