North Herts Road Runners Friendly running club based in Letchworth catering for all ages and abilities. We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 19:00. How do I know who to run with?

We are currently trialing new meeting locations so will update this page when we have a new fixed home. But look out for people wearing NHRR kit in and around Letchworth, we’re usually very easy to spot! We have club announcements at 19:00, then head out for the evening’s run. We offer a variety of different training options. Our qualified club coaches put together a balanced training schedule and

take coached sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays – just listen to announcements and follow the crowd. If this isn’t your thing, then we have groups of runners who go for runs (usually 3-8 miles) around the streets and countryside of Letchworth. Just ask around and well make sure you have the right group to run with. I need some training advice, can you help? Of course we can! We have a number of qualified coaches at the club as well as members who have run many different types of races all over the world from 5ks to marathons and beyond! Whether it is a quick question or more detailed training advice, we are definitely on hand to help. Its not just about running

NHRR has an active social scene with many different events being organised throughout the year. The highlight of the social calendar is the annual ball and awards evening. We also have other social events throughout the year. We pride ourselves on being friendly and welcoming so please come along and enjoy yourself! How do I join? First, come and try us out for a couple of sessions and see how it goes. How to join!

Membership runs from March to Febuary and membership costs are reviewed annually at the AGM in March.

NHRR is 40!

On Sunday 18th October all past and present members, family and friends are invited to Mrs Howard Hall, 2-5pm, to enjoy sharing memories and chatting all things NHRR.

John Atkinson, who founded the club in October 1986 with an article in The Comet, and Ian Sutcliffe, the only 1st week member still running with the club, will be attending.

Please feel free to bring along any memorabilia and photos you would like to share.
Cake and hot and cold drinks will be provided so please reply to this message or email Karen on [email protected] if you hope to attend so that we have sufficient cake! 😀

Rhia and Shahab both took on the Ipswich 10k in search of qualifying times for the England Masters Team.
Shahab came away with a chip time of 33:44, 20th overall and 1st MV45.
Rhia’s chip time was 38:57, 9th lady overall and 4th FV35.
It was a tough race, especially after the 3k relays the night before! But both runners qualified for the England Masters Team (subject to validation).

FVS Relays 2026 🏁
84 members from NHRR took on the relays and there were some great individual and team performances!
Sam, Mike, Abdullah and Shahab were 3rd senior team in the open race and 2nd Herts.
Tracy, Helen, Astrid & Verity were 3rd open vets & 3rd Herts.
Rhia, Alice, Sam and Mike were 3rd Herts senior mixed team.
Well done squirrels!! 💙🐿️
