Hi,
I apologise for having to cancel tonight’s session. Unfortunately I was stranded on the motorway behind an accident for 2.5 hours.

I tried to find cover from all the coaches I know in the area but unfortunately no one was available to to run the session.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused.

First and foremost, we can’t wait for Shuttles to recommence tonight and to see you all later at 6pm!

There is, however, another announcement that we’d like to make before the restart which is due to work commitments Dale has had to step down as one of our head coaches.
Not only is Dale a great friend of ours but he’s also a fantastic coach who I’m sure will be greatly missed by all of the players as well as ourselves.
We’d like to place on record our thanks to Dale for all of his assistance over the past few years and bringing a smile to the members faces - other than when he occasionally brought his ‘A game’ out against some of our older players at the end of the session!

But with the sad news of Dale’s departure comes some positive news, which is that Ben and I are now going to be joined by another excellent coach, Steph Stockwell.
Steph has been coaching for over a decade and is the current Head Coach for the Under 12 Hertfordshire county squad, she also plays at county standard herself, so she’s a great addition to our coaching family.
Steph will be there tonight and no doubt some of our regulars will already be familiar with her.

In terms of Covid protocols, we’d like to ask the players not to attend if they have the recognisable symptoms, or have a member of their household who currently has the virus. Hand sanitiser will be provided and we’d ask the players to have a ‘quick gel’ when they enter the hall and every now and then throughout the session.

Once again, we’re really looking forward to seeing some new and old faces and can’t wait to get started tonight!

***Important Notice***

To all players and parents,

Whilst we were due to reopen the doors to Shuttles Badminton Club on the 5th November 2021, we have been made aware by several players and parents that they won’t be able to attend due to it being the same evening as Fireworks Night.

We’d like the first week back to be the best it can be, so due to the clash with multiple firework displays and the subsequent reduction in attendees, we have decided to delay the return by one week.
We will therefore return on 12th November 2021.

We can’t wait to see you all on the 12th November for when Shuttles Badminton Club recommences.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may has cause.

Dear Shuttles players and parents,

First of all, we’d like to apologise for not confirming our plans sooner, however, we wanted to make sure that we were going to return to the court when it was safe to do so.

We are pleased to announce that we will be returning after the October Bank Holiday, 5th November 2021.

We are really looking forward to the restart of Shuttles and we can’t wait to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones!

Dear players/parents/guardians,

It is with great regret that with the tightening of government restrictions over the past few weeks and uncertainty of what the near future holds, we have made the difficult decision to postpone any return to Shuttles until January 2021 at the earliest.

We completely understand your disappointment, this was an incredibly difficult choice for us coaches too, but as always, the health and safety of our players and their families is the top priority of our club.

Our offer to refund any monies still stands, otherwise we’ll deduct the already paid subs from the next payment.
If you wish to take us up on the offer of a refund, please contact us directly.

Dear players/parents,
We wanted to provide an update in relation to Shuttles Badminton Club and the potential date of restarting the club.
We have been monitoring government guidelines closely with reference to indoor sports and whilst there is no set date for indoor sports with sizeable numbers to commence, we are confident this will be in the not too distant future.
With the summer holidays now upon us, we have decided that we will not return before the beginning of October 2020. That said, we will only kick-off Shuttles again if the government allows and if us coaches believe it is absolutely safe to do so.
The well-being and safety of our players is paramount to our club and we want to ensure we’re providing the safest environment for everyone involved.
If you have any questions whatsoever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly or via our page.
We hope you and your families are keeping safe and we look forward to having you all back on court with us as soon as possible.

Shuttles
Hi all,

It is with great regret that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Friday evening sessions for Shuttles until 1st May 2020 at the earliest.

We have all had a close eye on the updates from the government, as well as Sport/Badminton England, and due to the reinforced message of social distancing, along with the news that the majority of schools across the UK would be closing from Friday, we have decided it was best to listen to the advice that has been given. This was by no means a decision which was taken lightly, but for the safety of our players and their families, we genuinely feel we have been left with very little option.

As stated, we will look to resume on 1st May 2020, however, please check our page nearer the time in case we are unable to abide by this date.

For those who have paid until the end of this half term, we will discount next terms price by the value of the remaining weeks (£18). If you prefer to have that money returned to you, please private message us your bank details and we’ll refund that amount.

Please can I ask you to share this message with other parents/guardians of players at our club so the message reaches everyone.

Lastly, and most importantly, please keep yourselves and your loved ones safe during this difficult period.

Hi all,
We want to keep you updated on our stance regarding the Coronavirus.
We are closely monitoring the situation and continue to listen to the advice provided by the government and Badminton England.
Nothing would please us more than to continue our club during this challenging time, that said, we need to be realistic and ensure that the safety of our players (and our players families) come first.
As it stands, we plan on running Fridays session, but a further update will be posted on Thursday/Friday morning.
