I am thrilled to have been volunteered as the Training Representative on the BRA Committee. Since Chiltern Park closed, I’ve been floating around the South of England tending to the needs of my lovely customers and employing laughter as a training aid whenever they surprise me. Make sure you put this in your diary for 2024.
Gyro Record Breaker is provisionally booked for the 1st of June 2024 at EGBO Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green. This is to be confirmed but we are pretty sure this will be the day.

Many gyro's will have experience of this awesome airfield and the hospitality it has always afforded us so please watch this space as we are set to beat the official Guinness World Record for the most autogyros landing at a single airfield in an 8 hour period. The record set in 2022 at Old Warden stands at 71.

We think it was worth the wait. After almost ten months and some really dogged toing and froing by Sophie Court, Guinness have confirmed that the BRA record breaker at Biggleswade in Bedfordshire has been officially recognised as a World Record. This should also give a little incentive to Old Warden to let us hold it there again in the future.

71 autogyro’s at one airfield in an 8 hour period is the record and, all pilots who are or were paid up BRA members on that day can apply for a ParticipantsCertificate.

Thank you to all of you that helped make this possible, Pilots, Officials, Witnesses, Photographers, FISO and the rest of the Old Warden team.

Please email [email protected] with your name, aircraft reg that you flew in and your membership number and we will organise your certificate to be sent to you. Sadly there is a cost for this and it is £30.48 including P&P and we will send you a request for payment when you have sent your request.

We will also forward an image of your aircraft as you landed to keep with your certificate.

Maybe next year we should try to beat that and it a more central location thus giving more opportunities for pilots further up the country to join in.

We think it was worth the wait. After almost ten months and some really dogged toing and froing by Sophie Court, Guinness have confirmed that the BRA Record Breaker 2022 at Old Warden did set an official record. Great for the association as this was our 4th attempt, great for those that took part or attended and great for Old Warden.
71 autogyros at one airfield in an eight hour period is the record we set. All Pilots or visitors that were or are paid members of the association on that day can apply for a participants Certificate.

Sadly that does come at a cost of £25.00 plus £6.48 P&P.

The Guinness World Records commemorative folder will contain a Certificate of Participation for the record attempt you took part in.

The Certificate of Participation measures 148 x 210mm (5.83in x 8.27in) and is embossed with an exclusive GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS foil stamp substantiating its authenticity.

Please email [email protected] and I will send you a payment request for £30.48 and organise your certificate. Please ensure you type your correctly spelt name as you want it to appear on the certificate.

Finally a big thank you to our hosts and volunteers at Old Warden, John Demain and his team in the tower, The Photographers, Videographer and witnesses that really did do a full days work keeping all the records straight and of course the pilots and their passengers for attending the event and making the efforts to fly in.

Our AGM will be held at Popham during the Microlight Trade Fair. Please come along and offer your support if you are a member of the BRA and would like to be on the Committee
