We had an unexpected visitor at the gym last week! 🦔 This little guy was found zooming around the canteen late at night. We have absolutely no idea how he managed to get in, but thankfully he was carefully rescued by Chris and is now safely in care and gaining weight by the day! Chris’s partner, Lucy, used to volunteer at a rescue, so after a general assessment and weigh-in, he is currently being cared for at home. Sadly when he was found, he was far too underweight to survive the winter without intervention. Hedgehogs have really struggled this summer, with mums finding it difficult to raise their young during the extreme heat. 💔
It feels fitting that our visitor is a hedgehog — the Rogue Combat logo was inspired by their fearless attitude, ridiculous grip and natural grappling abilities! 💪🦔 Maybe this little guy’s visit was his way of making sure we’re living up to their name! Either way, we’re very glad he was found in a team environment where he could get the help he needed. If you do find a hedgehog that is injured, very small, unwell, or out during the daytime, it should be taken to a local wildlife rescue as soon as possible. Hedgehogs can have lots of underlying issues, and it’s never advisable to try to care for one yourself without having it properly assessed by a rescue first.
