LEITH RUGBY COMMUNITY WEEK IS BACK!
We’re delighted to announce the return of Leith Rugby Community Week, running Monday 31 August – Sunday 6 September!
This is a week for the whole Leith Rugby community — players, volunteers, families, partners and friends — to come together, get involved and give something back to our local community.
Here’s what we have planned:
🔵 *MONDAY – Earth in Common* 🌱
Youth volunteering at the Leith Community Croft. TBC — this is still being organised, so we’ll confirm details as soon as we can.
🔴 *TUESDAY – Charity Shop Collections* 👕
Donating items to Leith-based charities. Bring anything you wish to donate to the clubhouse by 6:30pm so it can be organised ready for delivering to our local charity shops. Think clothing, books, games, accessories etc.
🟡 *WEDNESDAY – Water of Leith Conservation* 🌊
Joining the open volunteering session from 10:30am till 1pm - meeting at Coalie Park. Litter picking or clearing back vegetation.
🟣 *THURSDAY – Foodbank Collections* 🥫
Supporting our local foodbank with donations. These should be dropped off at the clubhouse by 6:30pm. More details on what’s needed will be shared next week.
🟠 *FRIDAY – Youth Community Hub🏉 + Games Night*🍻
Our youth community hub will run from 4-6pm, providing fun and a hot meal for youth. The bar will then be open to all from 7pm for an open games night.
🩷 *SATURDAY – Litter Pick* 🗑️
Getting out into the surrounding area and helping clear litter from our local community. 11am till 1pm, followed by watching the men’s home games. There will then be a Wig themed social afterwards, heading to Campervan
🟢 *SUNDAY – Coffee Morning ☕ + Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home* 🐾
A coffee morning to raise funds for our youth, from 10:30am till 12:30pm. The WXV then have a home game, 2pm KO.
We also have a volunteering opportunity at the Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home community day, 11am till 3pm.
