Agree or disagree it's HAPPENED

But did you know statistically it's around 1 in 7 people have a gym membership?

If you NEED a gym, then the issue isn't the closure, the issue is your addiction/obsession, I feel for and please address this.
Want is different to need.

Remember your body is so capable of more than you know, personally I've spent my entire life changing it up. Football, triathlon, OCR, Bodybuilding, powerlifting, weightlifting, CrossFit, snowboarding, skateboarding, hiking, swimming.

Hell somebody sign me up for Strictly and I'll try dancing too?!

There are so many bigger issues in the world right now than getting a bro pump in the gym, use this time to better yourself mentally and physically!

Let's stop complaining, pick up a book, pick up the phone and ask someone if they are okay or pick up a yoga mat and improve your wellness with mobility/flexibility!

And if you don't wanna "train" then don't! There is nothing wrong with being a gamer, doing jigsaw puzzles or reading novels!

If we all put all our eggs on one basket it would just be one giant ommlette.

Proud Coach Alert 🚨

This is a casual 100kg PB for .lw ... But I'm not even gonna go into that.

I wanna talk about how proud I am of this girl, I wanna talk about ALL the reasons why I am... But there's not enough space.

So instead... I'm just gonna say:
Your consistency and drive is inspiring, your work ethic is unquestionable and even on the days you don't feel like it, you never let the negativity win. Your efforts and battles and patience inspires me and so I am lucky to get to coach you!

Keep being you and keep being awesome.

Did you know whole running 3x your bodyweight goes through your leg on each step?!

Imo this is still one of the simplest yet most efficient and effective moves for most. Especially athletes!

Most sports will involve single leg stability, what better way to train that than by being ON ONE LEG!

Instead of ladder drills... No ladders on the court/pitch/field are there 🙄 stick with the basics!

This simple move is all about working the standing legs glute, trying to actively create a stable base (external rotation) so your arch is up, knee is tracking middle to little toe!

Can you do it without falling? Without your knee collapsing?

Ditch the fancy, do the effective!

Exciting News

Some of y'all already know, but those of you that don't...

I've been given the exciting opportunity to lead Strength and Conditioning sessions for the team!

What nobody knows however is that back years ago when I was fully into Triathlon, I joined in swim sessions with and to be a better swimmer, during this time I always wondered what it would be like to work with/for GreenlightPT 👀

As I went away from triathlon I still had so much respect and the minute I returned to endurance Adam was the first person I went too to get me back on track.

Now Years, a lotta knowledge and experience later I've now got that chance to give back, here's to some 'fun' sessions!

Online Coaching

What is it?

The aim is to provide you with as great of a service as possible, from the video you can see the TrueCoach platform that I use. This allows me to programme your workouts, give clear instructions and even add videos to each exercise. The platform allows you to give feedback and add videos of your own for me to check your form or progress!

Online programming for me is still individual as PT, the workouts are built for you, they are not generic and they can be built around your gym, your home or wherever you find yourself exercising!

Currently have new spaces for a few clients, get in touch if you want to make some real sustainable changes into the end of the year!

Big Lift Monday

On Tuesday.... Anyway...

Believe it or not just hit her previous 1rm for a cheeky dub here. However because it's Hayley she can't be proud of anything, so I'll be proud and show off for her!

No this isn't about me, don't get it twisted, I'm shouting her out because she's done an amazing job of sticking to the plan and smashing it out once again.

"Everything happens for a reason"

Whether you believe in God, karma, fate, crystals or moon phases, if you believe in positive or negative vibes. Whatever your belief, you are the wind that fills the sails, the rudder of the ship and the Captain.

In the last 30 or so days I decided to unapologetically put myself first and at 30 years old I can say I've never been happier within my own skin.

There is no right nor wrong way to live your life, but live it the way that makes you the best version of you.

For me, that's less gym and more outdoors whether it be sun rain or snow.

Update:

The gyms have reopened, for many of you this has been something you've been excited for for days, weeks and even months!

However for me, I've decided that although the measures put in place by PureGym and the staff at MK are amazing I just don't feel happy returning...

So I'll be in Thursday and Friday morning but then will be continuing to work from home with Online Coaching/Programming and Zoom 1-2-1.

This was not an easy business decision but was an easy life decision. In 1 or 2 months with everything Covid related continuing positively I will hopefully be back wearing odd socks around PureGym again.

Please be aware this is purely personal and NOT against PureGym, they are doing am amazing job. Nor am I against any of you using the gym! For anyone that wants any of the services I offer, please do still get in touch! Or if anyone wants a chat, please again don't hesitate to reach out.

Top Tips for returning to the gym

1. It and you are not the same as 4 months ago. Accept time has passed. Lower your weights, lower your expectations and adapt.

2. Don't just go in and try and do everything because you've missed your "fix". The gym is for bettering yourself, set some goals, set a plan and stick to it.

3. You've had 4 months to change who you are, DO NOT go back to old bad habits... Poor eating choices, overtraining, lack of specificity.

4. ENJOY yourself, train the movements and muscle groups you enjoy don't punish yourself for having time away/off, but ease back in!

5. Respect others, stick to the rules and let's all move forwards together

Shorts a lot baggier, arms don't fill my sleeves.

No clue what I can squat or bench.

Don't care either.

I've spent 8 days worth of time playing Warzone with and don't regret a moment.

I've hiked/walked multiple new places.

Swum and cycled again for first time in years.

Life isn't about numbers, life is about doing what you want, when you want. So whatever that is, just go and do it, experience it and be whoever you choose to be.

Life by definition is singular. So make your decisions based on what YOU want.
