James recently got in touch to tell us about a cracking morning session he had down at Astral with with his young son. A total of 12 fish were landed, fishing solid bags over cell boilies and corn! What great photos and exactly what we love to see….Great work! LBAC tickets are available via Clubmate.

⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT SWIM IN LBAC WATERS – ASTRAL PARK IN PARTICULAR ⚠️

As the warmer weather arrives, we would like to remind everyone that swimming in any Leighton Buzzard Angling Club water is strictly prohibited and extremely dangerous.

Astral Park Lake presents particular risks, many of which are not visible from the bank:

• Deep water with sudden drop-offs and uneven lake beds
• Thick underwater w**d capable of entangling swimmers
• Soft silt and submerged obstacles beneath the surface
• Cold-water shock, even during warm weather
• Isolated areas where help may not be immediately available in an emergency

Every year, people across the UK lose their lives after entering inland waters that appear calm and inviting. Lakes are not swimming pools, and conditions below the surface can change dramatically within a few feet.

Parents and guardians are asked to speak to children and young people about the dangers of entering the water, particularly during hot weather and school holidays.

If you see anyone swimming in club waters, please report it immediately to a bailiff or committee member where safe to do so.

No fish, no football, no dare, and no attempt to cool down is worth risking your life.

Please stay safe and enjoy the lakes from the bank.

🔧 Rackley Hills – Inlet Works (Tomorrow)

Members are advised that the club will be undertaking essential work on the inlet at Rackley Hills tomorrow morning (Sunday the 26th).

As a result:

* The Little Sand Bar swim will be closed for the duration of the works
* There will be increased noise and disturbance in the area

We expect all work to be completed by approximately 14:00, after which normal access will resume.

Thank you for your understanding whilst we carry out these necessary improvements.

🚨 Important Notice – Rackley & Astral Arrival/Departure Times 🚨

All members are reminded that arrival and departure times at both Rackley and Astral must be strictly adhered to. These timings are in place for good reason — to respect our neighbouring landowners, protect the fisheries, and ensure fair and safe access for everyone.

Our bailiff team conducts regular patrols to monitor compliance.
If you are found arriving early or leaving late, you will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include suspension or loss of membership.

Please do the right thing and help us maintain the high standards expected of Leighton Buzzard Angling Club members.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued respect for the rules.

Lee Bennett got in touch with us to show how impressive some of the growth rates are on the Tiddy stockies. He had this lovely zip lin at 25lb 13, and it’s clearly been on the munch. Lee quickly identified it from on of our recent stockings, having gone in at 13lb in November 2023. Definitely one to watch for the future. Great angling Lee.

We’ll be announcing very shortly when new memberships for the 2026/2027 season will go live on ClubMate. Keep your eyes on our socials for updates.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE – RACKLEY HILLS - BIG SAND BAR (FACTORY SIDE) SWIM CLOSURES ⚠️

Due to essential tree surgery works taking place at Rackley on the Big Sand Bar (factory side), the following swims are closed with immediate effect and until further notice:
• Grundfos
• 8 O’Clock
• End of Sand Bar

This is to allow contractors to safely remove several large, dead willow trees in the area.

For safety reasons:
• The two otter gates providing access to the Big Sand bar will be locked.
• There will be no member access to this section of the water while works are ongoing.
• Please do not attempt to bypass barriers or access the area in any way.

These works are necessary for both safety and long-term maintenance of the fishery. We appreciate your cooperation and patience while this is carried out.

A further update will be issued once the area is safe and reopened.

🎣 Leighton Buzzard Angling Club – Bailiffs Wanted (Astral Park Lake) 🎣

Leighton Buzzard Angling Club are currently looking to appoint one or more volunteer bailiffs for Astral Park Lake.

This is an important role within the club and an opportunity for committed members to help protect and uphold the standards of one of our waters.

Role responsibilities include:
• Conducting regular bankside checks
• Ensuring members are adhering to club rules
• Promoting good angling conduct and fish welfare
• Acting as a visible presence to deter rule breaches
• Reporting issues back to the committee

We are looking for individuals who:
• Are approachable but confident
• Have a good working knowledge of LBAC rules
• Care about maintaining high standards
• Can remain fair, calm and professional

Bailiffs are representatives of the club, and the role requires integrity, consistency and a willingness to address issues when necessary.

If you are interested in putting yourself forward — or would like further information about what the role entails — please contact the committee via private message on here.

Let’s continue working together to protect and improve Astral Park for all members.
