It’s Mental Health Awareness Week.

In Wise for My Size, this is where our core pillars come into focus: self-esteem, self-confidence, self-efficacy, and self-compassion.

We also use simple tools like the circle of control to help children separate what they can influence from what they can’t, so worries feel less heavy and more manageable.

What’s one small thing that helps you feel more grounded when life feels busy or overwhelming?

Would your child enjoy spending a Friday afternoon crafting?

Friday 8th May, 2.15–3.45pm, Toddington

Ideal for 9–13 year olds, next month’s Crafting Calm session, Crafting Self-Belief, explores thoughts and beliefs in a light, creative, child-friendly way.

🎨 Through hands-on crafting and activities, we’ll explore the idea that some beliefs can lift us up, some can weigh us down, and how certain thoughts can bounce around in our minds and feel bigger than they really are.

We’ll be making:
• Mixed media hot air balloon artwork
• “Ping Pong Thoughts” creative activity

As always, the session is designed to feel calm, creative and fun, perfect for a Friday crafternoon 💛.

Did you know today is World Creativity and Innovation Day? 🎨

Creativity builds self-belief—especially when we let go of perfection and remember that practice makes progress. In Wise for My Size, we use crafts as a way to connect, unwind, and gently explore things that can sometimes feel tricky for children to talk about—like big feelings.

What might you create today if there was no pressure for it to turn out a certain way?

Some of the crafts we enjoyed before the Easter holidays, including clay bead bracelets, which we made to represent the “circle of control” topic we explored last half term.

Classes start back next Wednesday 22nd April.

If your child is interested in joining a friendly, after school creative group, message me for more info or to arrange a free trial session.
