You don’t have a drinking problem.

You don’t have a co***ne or drug problem.

You don’t have a willpower problem.

You have an accountability problem.

Because if your life was working…

You wouldn’t need the escape.

Most people spend years trying to remove the drink.

Remove the drugs.

Remove the habit.

But they never build anything to replace it.

That’s why they keep going back.

I didn’t change because I got sober.

I got sober because I changed.

I built routines.

I found purpose.

I challenged the beliefs that were keeping me stuck.

I created a life I didn’t want to escape from.

The alcohol and drugs became irrelevant.

This is so true but we often can get outside of our own heads to realise that.

We think everything is about US, and it couldn’t be further from the truth.

Do yourself a solid today and remove your ego from any situations that may arise and think about how other people might be feeling and show genuine compassion and offer help and kindness where it will do some good - instead of making it all about you .

I get caught in this trap myself so I know what’s it’s like, but give yourself a day off and be kind to yourself and others and watch how that develops for you

I was offered a promotion to run Warrington Audi as used car sales manager which is a flagship site.

I bottled it because my beliefs at that time were that I was not good enough to do that job.

I was drinking a lot, I had lots of personal issues running , but underneath it all- it was a belief issue in myself .

I am grateful now for that experience because it taught me never to doubt myself again.

I have done the work and will continue to do the work on myself until the day I die to change those beliefs and prove to myself that I am good enough.

You have tried.

You have started again.

You have had the conversation with yourself a hundred times.

And you are still in the same place.

That is not a motivation problem.

That is a belief system problem

I know what I need to do.

I just cannot make myself do it.

I have always been this way.

Maybe this is just who I am.

Everyone else seems to have it figured out. Why can’t I?

I start well then something pulls me back every single time.

Let me tell you what is actually happening.

Somewhere along the way you absorbed a set of beliefs about who you are, what you are capable of, and what you deserve.

You did not choose them. They were handed to you by your environment, your experiences, the people who shaped you.

And now they run in the background of everything you attempt like an operating system you never agreed to install.

You get close to the thing you want and something pulls you back.

You make progress and then self-sabotage before it gets real.

You know what you need to do and you cannot make yourself do it.

That is not weakness.

That is a belief system running a programme that was never designed to let you win.

The good news is that programmes can be rewritten.

But only if you are willing to stop calling it laziness and start calling it what it actually is.

For years I looked for the answer in all the wrong places.

Alcohol.
Drugs.
Escapism.
Avoidance.

What I eventually realised was that resilience isn’t built through one big breakthrough. It’s built through small daily actions repeated consistently.

That’s where RESETS came from.

Rest.
Eat Right.
Stay Active.
Escape the Crutch.
Time to Reflect.
Support Network.

These six foundations helped me rebuild my life after decades of self medicating and living in survival mode.

None of them are complicated.

But when you neglect them, life gets harder.
When you prioritise them, everything improves.

More energy.
Better health.
Greater strength.
Mental clarity.
Personal growth.

If I told you that you could change your mood, your way of being, your outlook on life so that you had the best possible day today, would you believe me ?

It’s can be hard sometimes when we are caught up in overthinking to choose a different state of mind, but everything is a choice, we choose to stay there instead of making a different choice that could help us .

Our brain likes the familiar so we stay stuck but that doesn’t help us, we have a choice in every situation to feel a different way, wether that’s to move or exercise when the overthinking starts or to forgive someone and move on for our own peace of mind, it’s always our choice .

This removes us from the victim mindset and moves us back into being in control of our own emotions again.

Try it today with something that’s been bothering you and make a different choice and see how that feels .
