Hi everyone. For those of you missing parkrun and other events, check out the below. It should be fun, a good motivator and you get to see your name on a (virtual) parkrun results table (for whoever your home event is) for the first time in a while.

You can run, jog or walk a 5k wherever you want on any day of the week (Monday - Sunday is the cycle) and then register it on your parkrun profile (if you’re new to parkrun then you can register for this). You can log one every day and your best time for the week will be used.

I’ve heard there may be an opportunity for a bit of friendly competition between parkruns too, but I’m not sure about that.

The Tour of Tameside has been cancelled this year due to events over the past few months and the ongoing situation - but that hasn't stopped Daddies Escape Running Club from completing the challenge in one day!

A very hot Pennington Flash 5 mile trail race this morning. A great race/course, starting and finishing on the track at Leigh Harriers Club and taking in a fair chunk of the lovely Pennington Flash Country Park. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a good race in August next year.

I’ve just entered the Pennington Flash 5 mile Trail Race which is being held this Sunday (25th) at 10.30am. Don’t know if anyone’s done it before (first time for me) and/or fancies doing it on Sunday. It doesn’t seem to have been advertised that much (on social media at least) so it looks like it’ll be quite a small field, which may appeal to some.
