Leigh Rough Riders is an informal sociable Mountain Bike club, which formed in 2007 with a group of friends rough and ready to get fit and hit the off road MTB trails. The club is free to join and consists of adult novice to intermediate skill and performance members, with a couple of advanced riders. Based in Leigh, Greater Manchester, we ride the local surrounding countryside and neighbouring to
wns and villages. Venturing out on longer rides, or with more adventurous trips to trail centres such as Clayton Vale, Delamere Forest, Lee Quarry, Gisburn Forest, Coed Llandegla, Cannock Chase, and many others. For local rides LRRs meet up in Leigh, generally at weekend or in the evening. Leigh Rough Riders cycle Cross Country, Trail Centres, and touring trails. So MTB – Off Road, XC, XTC, Enduro, Track and Trail, Single Track, paths and roads, and anything goes...
We ride for fun from A to B, generally to keep fit, have a good time, seek out adventure, tour new places, enjoy the countryside and the adrenaline rush thrills of MTB riding. Riding hard to work up a thirst, before racing off to a pub for a cold beer. Our more skilled members are happy to help willing riders progress. Pushing each other as a team but riding to the slowest rider.
