If you’ve ever felt nervous walking into a new gym, you’re not alone — I’ve been trying out a few recently as you know and gym anxiety is real. 😅

New layout, new faces, new energy... it can feel intimidating.
What’s helped me:
* Going with a friend (makes a big difference)
* Avoiding peak times at first (less crowded = less overwhelming)
* Doing some research before I go (layout, vibes, classes)
* Getting recs from gym-goers I trust

If you’re in the same boat, know that it does get easier. Confidence builds with each visit.

You belong there just as much as anyone else!!

Oh — and one universal truth across all gyms: people never put their weights back. Ever. 😂

Do you feel like you're doing everything right but still not losing weight?

Here is some possible reasons behind this

You're not actually in a calorie deficit- you might be eating good during the week but when it comes to the weekends, you're eating in a surplus. All the extra snacks, drinks and eating out. Those calories add up.

You're not tracking properly, If you're choosing healthier foods but eating more of them, you could be consuming more calories than you realise. Or you might not be counting the half a packet of biscuits that you have with a brew. Make sure you are weighing your food correctly and tracking everything down!

You're stressed or not sleeping enough - stress and lack of sleep hinders your weight loss progress. When there's a lot of stress in your life it's harder to stay focused on healthy weight loss as it results in comfort eating. Lack of sleep increases hunger and you lack energy so less likely to exercise.

You weigh yourself at different times of the day - you're going to weigh completely different in the morning than you will at night. To get the most accurate results do it at the same time every week.

It finally got me the cold that's been going about absolutely walloped me in the face 🤧

What I could've done is powered through, kept training and push myself when really there was no reason to. So instead, I've listened to my body and rested.

I've literally not trained for a full week and I'm okay with it! A couple years ago this would've been the end of the world for me. I would've been "fat" and I would've gained so much weight.

Mentally it would not have been good.

However, missing a week from the gym isn't going to do much damage. What would've done damage, is pushing my body to a limit when I was on my arse.

It's honestly okay to miss the gym for a week or two you aren't going to bring the scales, trust me. Pushing through in times like this is just going to cause serious burnout and could end up doing more to your body than what the cold has caused.

Not gonna lie, I love the sexy Phoebe cold voice. I've now developed.
