🏃‍♂️💪 UK Krav Maga proudly supports DIAS at the Wigan 10K!

Today, representatives from UK Krav Maga, Family Martial Arts in Leigh and the Ladies Kickboxing Academy came together to take part in the Wigan 10K, running in support of DIAS – the Wigan Domestic Abuse Service.

Together, our incredible team helped raise more than £2,000 for this vital local charity. DIAS provides essential support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, helping people rebuild their lives with greater safety, confidence and hope. 💜

At UK Krav Maga, we teach practical self-defence, awareness and resilience—but real strength extends far beyond physical ability. It is also found in courage, compassion and the willingness to stand beside vulnerable people within our community.

We are immensely proud of everyone who ran, donated, shared the fundraising campaign or encouraged the team along the route. Every contribution helped to make this achievement possible. 🙌

It was a privilege to support such an important cause, and we look forward to working with and supporting DAS again in the future.

☀️ But official UK crime statistics also highlight why situational awareness and personal safety matter.

📊 ONS data has previously shown that 70% of violent incidents occurring at weekends were alcohol-related, compared with 35% during the week, TWICE AS MANY!

🍺 More recent Home Office guidance reports that 91% of violent incidents occurring in or near a pub or club were alcohol-related.

That doesn't mean you should stay home. It means you should go out informed and prepared.

What do you get when you combine our incredible Ladies Kickboxing Squad with our dedicated Krav Maga self-defence students on one of the hottest evenings of the year? ☀️💦

An absolutely fantastic circuit training session packed with energy, determination, teamwork, and a whole lot of sweat! 💪🔥

Despite the soaring temperatures, our students showed exactly what it takes to achieve success. They pushed through challenging fitness stations, burned calories, improved their strength and endurance, and most importantly, had an amazing time doing it! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💨

Every squat, sprint, burpee, press-up, and exercise completed was another step towards becoming stronger, fitter, healthier, and more confident. 👊❤️
