A few fantastic volunteer shots from a recent Bee Roads session at Cardinals Meadow 🐝🌼

LEV helped remove some of the more dominant plant species, creating space for wildflowers to flourish. The site is looking great and provides an important stepping stone habitat, helping pollinators move more easily around the city.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved and helped make a difference for local wildlife🌿.

LEV recently joined our rangers for a hands on session learning how to identify bees and other pollinating insects.🌼🐝

The training helped volunteers develop the skills needed to support the upcoming Bee Roads Project including carrying out Flower-Insect Timed Counts (FIT Counts) to help monitor pollinators across the city.

A big thank you to everyone who took part, we can't wait to see these new skills put into action! 🐝

Happy National Volunteers' Week! 🌿💚

This week, we're celebrating all of the amazing volunteers who help care for Leicester’s parks, waterways and neighbourhoods.

Whether you're out litter picking, planting trees, restoring habitats or supporting wildlife, your dedication makes a real difference. 🦋

Thank you to every volunteer for the vital contributions you make to helping improve our city.👏

Have you been thinking of growing food for a while but it felt too daunting starting a new hobby without prior experience?

It is easier when you are sharing land with others who have been growing produce for years. They will help and support you.

At the Featherstone Drive Community Orchard in Eyres Monsell, there is a large established community plot and they are currently reaching out for new members. It is free to join and they share the food that they grow. No prior experience is needed.

Interested? They would love to meet you. You may be able to make a start next week.

Please email [email protected] to register your interest and arrange to visit the site.
