The wait is nearly over! ๐Ÿ™Œ Our Leicestershire Junior & Youth Disability League returns for a brand-new season, and we canโ€™t wait to welcome all of our teams back onto the pitch! ๐Ÿ†

Congratulations to Sean Jesson of One Touch Football Club, our Coach of the Year, Disability Pathway winner at the LRCFA Recognition Awards 2026!

Inspired by his own son's experiences of living with cerebral palsy, Sean was determined to ensure that every child with additional needs had the opportunity to enjoy football. What began as a single inclusive session has grown into a thriving disability football programme, with Sean now leading sessions for children across multiple age groups and helping to develop an adult disability section.

Alongside coaching disability teams every Sunday, Sean also manages grassroots teams across the club, dedicating countless hours to ensuring players of all abilities feel welcomed, supported and valued.

Thanks to Sean's passion and commitment, One Touch has become a place where children and adults can build confidence, make lasting friendships and experience the joy of football in an inclusive environment.

Sean's dedication to creating opportunities for everyone makes him a truly deserving winner.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be introducing each of the fantastic clubs that make up the Leicestershire Junior & Youth Disability League.

Each club plays a vital role in providing inclusive football opportunities, helping players develop their skills, build confidence and, most importantly, enjoy the beautiful game in a safe and welcoming environment.

Firstly, a huge congratulations to all of the finalists in the Disability Coach of the Year category. To have so many dedicated coaches recognised for the difference they make is something truly special. Every single finalist should be incredibly proud of the impact they have on their players and communities.

A special congratulations goes to Sean Jesson on being named Disability Coach of the Year. This award is a reflection of the time, passion and commitment he puts into creating football opportunities where everyone feels welcome, valued and included.

While Sean may have taken home the award, this achievement also celebrates the amazing work being done by all the coaches who give up their time week in, week out to make disability football what it is.

Congratulations to every finalist and every winner. Together, you are inspiring players, supporting families and showing that football really is a game for everyone. ๐Ÿ’™โšฝ๐Ÿ‘

What an incredible achievement to see two more amazing people from our league recognised for everything they have done for disability football.

A huge congratulations to Leanne Maudusevics, recipient of the Ivor Finn Award, and John Ball, recipient of the Gerry Cooper Award.

Both awards are thoroughly deserved and recognise years of dedication, hard work, passion and commitment to making football accessible and inclusive for everyone. The impact both Leanne and John have had on players, families, volunteers and clubs across our league is truly inspiring.

It is fantastic to see the outstanding people within our league receiving the recognition they deserve. Their commitment continues to make a real difference to so many lives and helps ensure disability football keeps growing stronger every year.

๐Ÿ† Three Coaches. One Incredible Achievement. ๐Ÿ’™โšฝ

A huge congratulations to Natalie Halliday (Ingles FC), Steve Martin (Saffron Dynamo) and Sean Jesson (One Touch Football Club) on being named finalists for Disability Coach of the Year.

To have three coaches from our Leicestershire Junior & Youth Disability League recognised at this level is something we should all be incredibly proud of. It highlights the amazing work being done across our league to make football accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for every player.

Each of these coaches has dedicated countless hours to creating opportunities, building confidence, supporting families and ensuring that disability football continues to grow. They are changing lives both on and off the pitch.

At this stage, the trophy almost feels secondary. Just reaching the final is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the passion, commitment and hard work each coach puts into their players every single week.

From everyone at the Leicestershire Junior & Youth Disability League, we wish Natalie, Steve and Sean the very best of luck. No matter who takes home the award, disability football has already won.
