Cadwell, you’ve been a tough one!
What can we say? Some rounds are just better than others and today will be consigned to the ‘not so good’ box and we’ll move quickly on!
Firstly, Daniel Brooks is okay after his huge Superstock crash on the opening lap. It’s certainly not what anyone wants to see but the good news he was able to walk away from it and with no Superstock races until early October, he’s got plenty of time to heal.
Eugene Mcmanus also had an off in today’s first Superbike race. The boys were incredible once again and spent the afternoon getting his machine ready to go and he made it out for the final race – but unfortunately retired at the end of Lap Nine.
However, Rhys Irwin was able to keep flying the MasterMac Honda flag today with two solid finishes following his p12 yesterday.
Crossing the line p17 in the earlier 12-lap race, he backed it up with a p18 in the final race of the day.
It may not have been what he’d wanted when he got up this morning but as rookies, this year is such a massive learning curve for both him and Eugene that to even finish a race here deserves respect.
So, it’s onwards and upwards. We’ve got a few weeks off to give everyone a chance to have a little rest and then we’ll regroup and plan to come back stronger than ever at Assen over the weekend September 18-20.
👊👊
