Thurmaston DPC Club Announcement
It is with great sadness that we announce the difficult decision to fold our men’s team ahead of the 2026/27 season.
After nine incredible seasons, Thurmaston DPC will be withdrawing from the Leicester & Charnwood Sunday Football League, bringing to a close the chapter that started it all.
The men’s team is the foundation this club was built on. Without those players, volunteers and supporters who believed in the club from day one, Thurmaston DPC simply would not be where it is today.
Over the years, the men’s section has evolved. What began as a single team grew into two with the introduction of our reserves in the club’s third season. After five successful years operating both sides, we returned to one men’s team for the final two seasons.
Together, they created a legacy that everyone connected with the club can be proud of.

Across nine seasons, the men’s section:

âš˝ Gave 153 players the opportunity to represent the club
âš˝ Saw 23 players make over 50 appearances
âš˝ Celebrated 8 players reaching the remarkable milestone of 100 appearances
While this marks the end of one unforgettable chapter, it also allows the club to focus fully on an exciting future. Our women’s section continues to grow from strength to strength, and we remain fully committed to developing opportunities for women and girls as the next chapter of Thurmaston DPC continues.
To every player, manager, coach, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who has been part of our men’s team over the last nine seasons, thank you. Thank you for your commitment, your passion, the unforgettable moments, the victories, the disappointments, the friendships, the laughs and, of course, the beers.
The memories we’ve made together will always be part of this club’s story.
