Scuba Vera

Scuba Vera I'm Vera, a PADI SCUBA Instructor (MSDT) with a passion for exploring the depths and helping others discover the freedom and variety that diving offers.

I believe that every dive is an opportunity to grow—whether it's mastering a new skill, solving a challenge, or experiencing something unexpected beneath the surface. My goal is to help divers develop their abilities, build confidence, and enjoy the journey of continuous improvement. I'm always available to answer your questions, provide guidance, or to come out on a dive with you, whether you're

freshly qualified or an experienced diver.

Where will your next adventure take you ...

How about an Advanced Open Water course in the ever improving visibility!!

The Advanced course is your next step of discovery on your SCUBA journey and is an introduction to 5 different dive disciplines including 'Deep' and 'Navigation' dives.
.. and that's exactly what:
Charlie, Billy and Preston did this month!!!

Really well done to them all ... we're looking forward to seeing you all back here soon.

“Common sense? It’s not as common as you think.”

We throw the term around like it’s some universal truth, but the reality is it doesn’t exist in the way we imagine. What’s obvious to you is only obvious because of your experiences, training, and the stories you’ve heard.

In this blog, I look at why “common sense” is so often hindsight dressed up as wisdom, and how assuming everyone shares the same knowledge is a dangerous trap, especially in diving. I also explain why short social media clips or passing comments don’t cut it when it comes to building real understanding.

Instead, we need to share stories, reflect together, and debrief properly so we create shared meaning. That’s how we turn individual experiences into something the whole team can benefit from.

Have a read and see if you still think common sense is all that common.
