Today is 5k Your Way Eve.

Come along and join us tomorrow morning at the May meet up of 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer, our first one this year.

We will be:

🏃‍♀️🚶‍♂️running and walking around Victoria Park, as part of Leicester Victoria parkrun.

📣 cheering on our participants and volunteering to help out at parkrun

🧁 ☕️ getting together after our exercise to socialise over a hot drink and some cake.

We were visited by Adam of Rodders Routes for the start of his 40th marathon in 55 cities in a year in aid of Move Against Cancer Charity.

After running Leicester Victoria parkrun, Adam did a convoluted route around Leicester, completing his marathon in 5hours 57 minutes.

At 5K Your Way, we encourage everyone to do as much or as little of the parkrun as they'd like, whether this is the whole 5K, 500m or they'd just like to watch and support! We then meet together for coffee and cake.

The main thing is to enjoy yourself! 😃

Tomorrow morning we are hosting the start of Adam’s 40th Marathon as part of his 55 Marathons in each of the 55 Cities in England in 52 weeks. Adam is raising money for the Move Against Cancer Charity. He has a fund raising page:

As part of the challenge Adam has been running at parkruns with 5k Your Way groups on the last day of the month. Hence Adam’s visit to Leicester Victoria parkrun this Saturday.

Before the start Adam will chat with us and take photos and video, before setting off on his Marathon at the start of parkrun. However, unlike us he will continue running around Leicester and its surround area to complete his Marathon. Hence Adam will have no time to join us for coffee, cake and chat. Adam’s expects to complete the parkrun in about 35 minutes, and those who can run at that pace can run with Adam, however he will keep running at this finish.

Adam started in July last year and will complete his challenge at the end of June in Salisbury

For those who are good at maths you will realise that 55 only fits into 52 weeks with some weekends, requiring two marathons to be run on 3 weekends. Last weekend was one of those when Adam ran his marathon in Doncaster on Saturday and Peterborough on Sunday. Adam started in Hereford and if goes to plan, finish with another double weekend with Sheffield on the Saturday and Salisbury on the Sunday. Next month Adam will be running the London Marathon as part of the challenge, so if you are a roadside or just an armchair London Marathon follower give Adam a cheer, as well as cheering him along on Saturday.
