Sandy Hazell has announced that she is retiring from the England indoor international team.

The news comes just weeks after one of the most successful Commonwealth Games campaigns in the history of English bowls.

EIBA Chief Executive Peter Thompson said: "I'd like to thank Sandy for her many years of dedication to the England set up, both as a player and as captain. The work she has put in behind the scenes to ensure the series run smoothly has made such a difference to the team.”

Congratulations to our Fantastic 5s teams who have qualified for final of the tournament at our National Summer Finals at Melton & District IBC this weekend.

Bristol Cross Border Force, Colchester Gladiators, Egham and Hartlepool Monkey Hangers will battle it out across the three rounds on Sunday 20th September to decide who is crowned this year’s champions.

Do come along and cheer on all the teams as there is free entry all weekend.

Whether you’re brand new to bowls or just curious, drop in, meet the people, and get on the carpet. It’s a great chance to enjoy the game, chat with members, and see what indoor bowls is all about - and if you decide to join on the day, you’ll receive £10 free bowling credit.

If you’ve ever thought about trying indoor bowls, Wealden Indoor Bowls Club are opening their doors on Saturday 19th September, 10am–4pm, for a free Open Day.

Everyone is welcome to come along, have a go, and enjoy friendly coaching and demonstrations throughout the day. No experience is needed and all equipment is provided for you to just step on the green and give it a go!

Across the weekend of 18th–20th September, we have a fantastic line up of matches to enjoy in the Men’s & Women’s Singles, Open Para Pairs, Open Pairs and Open Triples. It’s set to be a brilliant showcase of our sport.

The EIBA will be hosting a Celebration Game at Hartlepool Indoor Bowls Club on Saturday 3rd October as part of the EIBA’s ongoing commitment to raise the profile of the Disability Bowls Programme.

This friendly fixture is open to all disabled bowlers, particularly those living in the north of the country, who would like to enjoy a relaxed, welcoming game alongside like‑minded players. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, have fun, and be part of an inclusive bowls community.
