"A great start to the 2026/27 campaign with a hard-fought win against a strong Hinckley 3rds side.

The game was played at a real pace, with both teams showing plenty of commitment, physicality and some big hits throughout.

There were some brilliant individual moments, including a superb solo try from Blane Howe, but just as importantly there was plenty of gritty, determined team work across the pitch.

For our first run-out of the season, there is still plenty for us to work on. We’ll take what we learned from the game back onto the training pitch on Thursday night and keep building.

All in all, a really positive win against a good side and a great way to start the campaign.

A big thank you to Hinckley Rugby Football Club 3rds for the game, and we wish them all the best for the rest of the season."

Aylestone St James RFC are recruiting a men’s Head Coach to deliver the club’s objectives for the 2026/27 season and beyond

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced men’s Head Coach to help us compete in the National League pyramid

We are looking for a coach who will be proactive in delivering on the club aims, with the support of the committee and senior playing members.

We have a desire to bring through a new generation of players who are after a fun, friendly and competitive brand of rugby.

A Level 2 coaching certificate (or international equivalent) is required

We own and operate our own multi-use clubhouse, which gives us a great platform to contribute to the local community and offer something many clubs in the area cannot
