Yesterday we arrived in Paris ! Been to Clichy where team GB will be training ! Wonderful to see the French are welcoming the British ! The town has British flags flying and restaurants are waiting to serve the British contingent!!

If you missed the web conference last night below is the key points discussed …

1. Talk about the Olympic torch/relay.

2. The volunteer kick-off event on March 23 will take place in Paris. Local participants can register from January 25 to 31 on the web portal. Substitute volunteers can only participate remotely.

3. Roles expected of volunteers (spectators guidance) and the importance of a smiling face even if language is not fluent. Teamwork !

4. Interview with a wheelchair tennis player who speak 4 languages. A message reassures volunteers that language concerns are unnecessary.

5. 1 day off after 5 working days. The shift schedules (including dates and times) will be sent on April.

6. Explanation of the Accreditation (AD) card. Basically you will receive it simultaneously with the uniform.
[Correction] Possiblly at the same place and the same time, but this conference just said you would get firstly AD then use this AD to get your uniform)

7. Emphasis on the importance of the uniform for fostering a sense of unity. The uniform unveiling is yet to occur. Be waited patiently.

8. Introduction of the volunteer's role during test events.
