Whetstone Athletic Football Club Whetstone Juniors Football Club are an FA Accredited club based in the village of Whetstone.

We currently have 27 teams and a junior academy and we provide opportunities for players to join at 4 years of age and play right through to adult football. We run teams in organised leagues from U7 through to open age football. Our club is run as a registered charity and a not for profit organisation and is regulated by the Football Association (we are affiliated to Leicestershire FA) and the cha

rity commission. We are fully insured, our coaches are qualified, checked and certified and we have a dedicated Child Welfare team led by proactive professionals to ensure a safe environment for all.

Join us at Elizabeth Park for a special evening as teams from across Whetstone Athletic come together for a fun, friendly Inter-Club Round Robin Tournament.

We’re kicking off our Summer Recruitment Series with the fantastic Whetstone Pumas, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Following the success of several players progressing into academy football, the Pumas are now seeking enthusiastic and committed players to join an ambitious and developing team.

⚽ Currently competing a year up, playing U10 football while still being an U9 age group.

Year after year, they have designed and produced the outstanding trophies and medals that our players proudly compete for and our champions are honoured to take home. A special shoutout to the U11 Loughborough Foxes girls who brought along a giant Jenga and giant Connect 4 to enjoy between matches this weekend! 🧩🎯

This is exactly what we love to see at Whetstone Athletic tournaments. ⚽❤️

Of course, everyone comes to compete and play football, but tournaments are about so much more than the results. They’re about making new friends, spending time with teammates, creating memories, sharing laughs, and having fun both on and off the pitch.

Seeing players from different teams getting involved, enjoying the games together and making the most of the day is what grassroots football is all about. 🙌

Out of all our Whetstone Athletic teams competing across the weekend, the U9 Lions were the only home team to lift the trophy at our very own tournament! ❤️🥇

After a fantastic day of football, the boys showed incredible determination, teamwork and spirit to be crowned champions. 👏⚽

Winning any tournament is a brilliant achievement, but doing it on home soil in front of family, friends and fellow club members makes it even more special. 🏆✨

A fantastic Whetstone Tournament and a brilliant effort from everyone involved.

A special thank you to Jack, who does so much behind the scenes year after year. From organising the socials to helping make every tournament run smoothly, your hard work and dedication never go unnoticed. Wishing you all the very best as you head off to America – you’ll be greatly missed!

A huge thank you to Ben for organising all the fixtures and keeping the tournament running seamlessly throughout.

Thank you to Kirk, our club secretary, whose dedication, commitment and countless hours of work for the club are truly appreciated.

And thank you to Mark, our chairman, for his leadership, support and everything he does for the club.
