There is a format change to the order of play due to COVID-19 restrictions as follows...
- The new format, will see each captain submit their 8 man team in advance of the match weekend.
- A scorecard will then be drawn up by the TD, each player will no longer play 1 frame against each opposing player.
- Each player will now play a total of 7 frames against their named opposing player on the scorecard.
- The first 4 names on the scorecard will start by playing 4 frames each against their named opponent.
- When completed, those players will vacate the tables to allow the venue to clean equipment etc, then the other 4 players will play 4 frames each against their named opponent.
- Once they have completed those frames, the original 4 matches will go back on and play their last 3 frames each. Once completed and cleaning has taken place, the last 4 players will go back on and play their final 3 frames against their opponent.
- Should the match end in a 28-28 draw, a blue ball shootout will take place to decide the winners.
- For the purpose of the shootout, Cueball in the D, blue on its spot, starting with player 1 for each team, in turn will nominate a chosen pocket ( flukes will not count ), and attempt to pot the blue.
- Every member of the team will get a go in the shoot out.
- If it is still a draw at the end, it will go to sudden death, each captain may choose which player goes up but that player must not have another go until all 8 players have had an attempt.
- The sudden death shoot out will finish, when a player pots the blue and his opponent misses.
Chris (County Secretary) will make sure each captain has a copy of the new format, and the rules regarding the blue ball shootout by the time the match day weekends come round.
