Thurlaston v Epworth U13 Tigresses

A beautiful day for football with a 2pm kick-off against our local rivals, Thurlaston.

All of our new signings put in brilliant performances on their first outing for the Tigresses. Sofia was tenacious in the middle, Lydia was excellent at the back, and Maisie looked so composed in goal.

Every player put in a real shift, especially in the second half when we went down to 9 players. The girls dug deep, worked for each other and showed some fantastic character.

There were loads of positives to take away from the game and plenty for us to build on as the season progresses.

Fantastic communication and composure in goal. She looked confident throughout and really helped organise those in front of her.

Epworth U13 Lionesses 0–7 Albert Village

Tough first league game for the Lionesses, but loads of positives to take. The girls started nervously with players in new roles and conceded early, but once they settled into their usual shape they showed real fight, pressing, competing, creating chances and working hard for each other.

Second half was full of effort and energy. The game became end‑to‑end, the girls kept pushing, and even after conceding they never stopped trying to play football the right way. First 70‑minute match together, and plenty to build on.

Proud of the attitude, the commitment, and the way they improved as the game went on.

Big future ahead for this group.

⚽️💜U10 Lionesses v Rugby Borough💜⚽️

A tough start for the U10 Tigresses at home to Rugby Borough, a fixture that historically has been a tricky one for us but one we always look forward to. With a debut for Evie in goal, Evelyn and Anavay the girls are a welcome addition to the Lionesses.

Freya and Elsie worked tirelessly in the middle of the park breaking up play. Harper was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet early on with some great footwork and a shot from outside of the area. A great first game for the girls and the signs are there for a fantastic season ahead !

Epworth Forest Panthers - 3 v 1 - Heather St John

A superb performance from the girls this week. After losing to Heather in their final preseason game the Panthers came back with a new determination and a game plan. Going in 1-0 at half time the girls didn't let their heads drop and fought hard to stay in contention. In the second half they dug deep, played some lovely football and got what the deserved. Finishing 1-3 the Panthers should be super proud of their efforts and getting their first win of the campaign.

Parents player of the week went to Heidi for keeping quiet Heather's dangerous, pacey forward and the coaches trophy went to new signing Freya for the goal that set the team on their way to victory and for some great effort across the park. Across the pitch the girls were superb and the levels of determination and football showed is really positive sign for the season to come!

Well done Panthers! An impressive start!
