After back-to-back tournament days, our U11 Lionesses showed up on a beautiful sunny Sunday and gave everything — even with some of the squad unavailable. That’s character right there! 💪

🏅 Final vs AFC Chellaston
The team we lost to earlier in the day. We had a score to settle. 🔥

Despite going into the final with no rest after an unfortunate delayed schedule — unlike our opponents who played their semi final game prior to ours — the Lionesses were absolutely magnificent. Pressing, tacking, working hard, creating chances and never giving up. Then came the moment… a handball in the box. PENALTY. 🎯

Up stepped Miya. Nerves of steel. Bottom right corner. 1-0. 😤⚽
The girls then dug deep and held on superbly under pressure to see the game out and CLINCH THE TOURNAMENT! 🏆🦁

Super proud of every single one of these girls for their hard work, team spirit and brilliant football throughout the whole day. You absolutely deserved this! 🌟
🧤 Special mention to Alice — an absolutely rock solid performance in goal all day. Some crucial saves that kept us in it. Superstar! ⭐

🦁 What a day out for the U11 Lionesses at the East Goscote Tournament! 🏆 A massive thank you to East Goscote Utd for hosting such a brilliant event! ⚽
With games being played on 9v9 pitches but with the smaller 7v7 goals, every match was tight, competitive and full of heart — exactly the kind of football we love to see! 💪

The girls battled hard through the group stage — winning 1, drawing 2 and losing 1 to finish 3rd in the group. They grew with every single game and showed real character throughout. 🌟

Unfortunately our journey ended in the semi-finals with a narrow 1-0 defeat to a very strong Coalville Ravenettes side — but we couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of these girls! 👏❤️

What a fantastic day for the girls yesterday as they reached the Semi-Finals of the Coalville Tournament in their very first tournament together!

The girls showed incredible determination, teamwork and resilience throughout the day. To finish 2nd in the group and progress to the Semi-Finals was a brilliant achievement.

Unfortunately, our tournament ended with a 2-0 defeat in the Semi-Final, but every single player should be proud of their efforts. The hard work, attitude and togetherness on display were outstanding from start to finish.

For their first tournament as a team, they represented U11 Epworth Panthers brilliantly and showed exactly what this group is all about.

A huge thank you to Coalville Town FC for hosting a well-organised tournament and providing a great afternoon of football.

The future is looking bright for these Panthers! 🐾💜

Match Report – East Goscote Tournament

We couldn’t be prouder of the girls today. They flew out the blocks with real intent, then had a little wobble where we lost our shape a bit — followed by a tough game against GNG that knocked their confidence for a moment.

But champions respond, and respond they did.

In the semis, the girls were immense. Two outstanding goals.

The final spoke for itself. From start to finish, they were unreal — disciplined, brave, relentless, and playing the kind of football that makes you step back and smile.

To add the final ended up being played between the two u9 entries into the u10 tournement, the other being Asfordby Amatures, a really good group of girls, coaches and parants that contributed to a great close fought final!

A special mention has to go to Brooke, our stand‑in keeper today. She kept us in this tournament at key moments with some unbelievable saves. Hats off to her for stepping up and taking one for the team — absolute legend today.

Today, our Epworth Forest U11 Diamonds travelled to Whetstone Juniors FC to take part in their tournament.

With the stakes high and some very strong teams in attendance, we started with a narrow 1-0 defeat, conceding with only seconds remaining. It was a tough result, but the girls showed great character from the very beginning.

Next up were Anstey Nomads. Once again, we faced tough opposition but battled hard to earn a well-deserved draw.

Our third game saw us take on Croft, and the girls produced an excellent performance to secure a convincing 3-0 victory.

Then came what many considered the toughest challenge of the group stage – Rugby Diamonds, who had dominated the tournament and scored goals for fun. We defended brilliantly, even coming close to taking the lead ourselves, but Rugby eventually found a breakthrough and edged the game 1-0.

Despite the results, the girls finished 3rd in the league table and secured a place in the quarter-finals.

There, we faced a strong Oadby & Wigston side. Once again, determination, teamwork and resilience shone through as we battled our way to a fantastic 1-0 victory, sending us into the semi-finals.

Waiting for us were another Rugby Borough team – the Leopards. The girls dug deep and produced another outstanding display, earning a superb 1-0 win and booking their place in the final.

The final brought yet another Rugby Borough side, this time the Lionesses.

We fell behind 1-0, but the girls never let their heads drop. They responded brilliantly, finding a deserved equaliser to take the game to a penalty shootout.

Liara, our incredible 9-year-old playing two years above her age group, stepped up first and confidently scored.

Rugby responded to make it 1-1.

Frankie then calmly converted to put us 2-1 ahead.

Our goalkeeper Gemma then stepped up and buried our third penalty with confidence to win us the tournament

And that crowned the Epworth Forest Diamonds as Europa Champions!

An absolutely fantastic achievement from a group of girls who showed unbelievable determination, strength, teamwork and belief throughout the day.

As a coach, I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them. 💙💎🏆
