Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Leicestershire & Rutland County FA is responsible for the governance and development of football across the county.

The organisation aims to inspire positive change through football across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The Leicestershire & Rutland County FA are committed to governing and developing the game at all levels. In line with The Football Association's Whole Sport Plan, the County FA has produced a four-year plan aimed at providing everyone with the opportunity to participate in football for l

ife. The plan allows parents, managers, teachers and coaches the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and gain qualifications. We are keen to develop partnerships to promote the benefits of football and improve the facilitieis where football is played. Working with key partners we hope to access essential funding which can be invested to increase the quantity and quality of pitches and facilities providing more and better playing opportunities. Our aim is to increase participation, improve the quality of provision and widen access to football opportunities across the County. To meet the demands of implementing the plan the County FA offices consists of a Operations team and a Development team which work together to serve the football community of Leicestershire and Rutland. We're delighted to welcome Leicester City Football Club Midfielder and Lutterworth local Louis Page as a special guest at the .

A former Lutterworth Athletic Football Club youth player, Louis has gone on to become one of Leicestershire's brightest young talents. Fresh from being named the EFL Championship Apprentice of the Season, he has progressed through Leicester City's Academy since joining at Under 9 level, making 16 Championship appearances and representing England at every age group up to Under-20 level.

Away from the pitch, Louis continues to give back to the local community through the Premier League Kicks programme, inspiring the next generation by delivering coaching sessions across Leicestershire.

Join us at the Athena on Friday 3rd July as Louis takes part in an exclusive Q&A, sharing his journey from grassroots football in Leicestershire to the professional game.

We're delighted to announce that Harborough Town Football Club Manager Mitch Austin will be joining us as a special guest at the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Recognition Awards 2026.

Widely regarded as one of non-league football's brightest young managers, Mitch has overseen a remarkable period in Harborough Town's history, guiding the club to three promotions in five seasons, including promotion to the National League North.

His high standards, ambitious mindset and exciting brand of football have helped establish Harborough Town as one of the region's leading non-league clubs. Following this incredible success, Mitch recently committed his future to the club by signing a new three-year contract.

On the night, Mitch will join Anstey Nomads Manager Conrad Logan for our exclusive Champions Chat, where the pair will discuss their promotion-winning campaigns, leadership, building successful teams and what it takes to succeed in non-league football.

The countdown is on to the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Recognition Awards 2026, and we're delighted to announce that Akil Howson and Harry Boorman will be joining us as special guests on the night.

Akil Howson has established himself as one of English football's leading assistant referees, regularly officiating in the Premier League and other top domestic competitions. This season, he made history as the first Black match official to officiate an FA Cup Final at Wembley, while continuing to earn a reputation for his professionalism, consistency and outstanding performances at the highest level.

Harry Boorman has enjoyed an inspiring journey representing the England Deaf Football Team at both youth and senior level. His dedication, resilience and achievements continue to inspire others, both on and off the pitch.

As our 2025/26 County Cup Finals campaign comes to an end, we'd like to recognise and thank the match officials who supported our Inclusive County Cup Finals Day at Holmes Park.

Officiating across the Inclusive Green, Inclusive Red and Inclusive Purple County Cup Finals, our referees played a vital role in ensuring each game was enjoyed in a safe, fair and positive environment.

Their enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to the game helped make the day a memorable celebration of inclusive football, and we're grateful for their contribution to another successful finals programme.
