First of all, I want to apologise for the lack of content over the last few weeks. Life has been pretty busy — we’ve recently purchased a new narrowboat and have been getting everything sorted, including finding a lovely mooring for her. It’s been exciting, hectic and a bit of a whirlwind!
With pike season fast approaching, though, I honestly can’t wait to get back out on the bank and start sharing more fishing content again. 🎣
But I also wanted to share something a little more personal.
Like so many people, we face things that have challenge us in different ways, and it’s reminded me just how important it is to have people around you — and sometimes just to have something that gives you a reason to get out of the house, clear your head and switch off from everything for a while.
I've been very lucky to have people help me when I've needed it, and I’ve been thinking a lot about how I could give something back to you guys that need it
I want to give a way a few FREE guided pike/perch fishing trips and days out to anyone who might be struggling with their mental health, feeling isolated or lonely, , or simply feels like they could benefit from getting outdoors and spending a few hours by the water with me
There’s something about been by water that has always helped me, calmed my soul and Being outside, sitting beside the water, having something to focus on, talking about absolutely everything or absolutely nothing... sometimes a few hours on the bank can do more good than we know
There's no awkwardness, if you want to open up you can
We will defo have a laugh, learn a few new skills, forget about everything else for a few hours and, with a bit of luck, we might even snaggle a few fish along the way. 😁🎣
These days will either be on the canal in stone or at rudyard lake in leek, and also looking at other waters we can tackle, ill even pay for the fishing for you and your rod licence for the day if you dont have one
These days out will be scheduled on a Thursday
You don't need any fishing experience whatsoever.
You don't even need your own tackle. I've got plenty of rods, reels and gear that you can use, so please don't let that stop you.
Im no professional but do know my watercraft around these waters
And I want to make this absolutely clear:
There is NO charge.
I'm not looking to make anything from this.
You also don't need to tell me your story or explain what you're going through. Your personal circumstances are your own. Just drop me a private message saying you're interested, and we'll have a chat and see what we can arrange.
Sometimes it's difficult to ask for help.
So maybe don't think of it as asking for help.
Just think of it as going fishing with a mate. ❤️🎣

If this manages to give even one person a good day, a few laughs and a bit of breathing space from whatever life is throwing at them, then it'll have been completely worth it.
