Joshua Day Boat Hire Explore the Caldon Canal and the Churnet Valley on board "Joshua", a 35 ft day hire narrow boat The boat is equipped with crockery and cutlery for 10 people.

Based at Denford just outside Leek on the Caldon Canal in the Staffordshire Moorlands, a choice of routes are available for your day trip. Cheddleton, Leek, Endon and Consall Forge are all possible destinations for your day’s boating, returning to Denford at the end of the day. There are numerous pubs and eating places along each route, as well as interesting places to visit and the beautiful scenery of the Churnet Valley. The boat has a cabin and a covered area in case of rain, as well as open areas at the bow and stern. There is a flush toilet, wash hand basin, kitchen sink, kettle and electric hob. There is also a saucepan so you can heat soup or a stew, and a frying pan (you can’t beat a bacon butty whilst boating through beautiful countryside). Full instruction in handling the boat and operating locks and lift bridges is given, including practical tuition at the first lock. Cost is £110 for a week day, £140 for a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday, for an 8 hour hire period (10am to 6pm or 9am to 5pm). Phone 07716738350 or email [email protected] for further details.

£150 and the boat holds a maximum of 10 people… that’s £15 per person for a full day..well behave dogs are also welcome at no extra charge.
No experience need as full training/instruction given.

Another day on the canals.. a lovely family on the boat today visiting from Perth Australia….

There friends stayed in the new Airb&b at the Hollybush Pub which they said was fabulous.

Then they all meet up and had a day on Joshua day boat.

They had a fantastic day and even had time to go down to the Flintmill which they really enjoyed.

And whilst moving the boat back to its mooring for the night a bit taking to a couple of guys who were fishing 🎣… then all of a sudden this popped out.

Bookings are going fast now….

The sun is shining… at last ☀️☀️

Why not try our assisted meal cruise from the Hollybush in Denford to the Flintmill in Cheddelton and back.

Simply order your meal with the Hollybush which you can bring onto the boat with you then sit back and relax whilst we cruise down the canal… very private unique experience… make the most of the sun days and evenings☀️☀️ before they have gone….🥶

£60 for the boat trip which will last around 1.5/2hrs with free tea and coffee available.

Meal cost must be paid separately to the Hollybush pub.

Minimum of 2 people maximum of 4 people.
