Blues exit the cup on penalties.

A great performance all round against a tough Audley side. Found ourselves 2-0 up through Jack Hankin and Brayden Barlow we were really on top at this point but a silly free kick turned the game with a great finish from their lad to make it 2-1. It was soon 2-2 after a sloppy 10 mins to take us into the break.
Not much between the two sides after half time but Audley applied some pressure and forced a goal and we found ourselves trailing. We switched it up a bit and young Shay Meredith got one back to take it to penalties. To be fair from both sets of lads there were some really good finishes but it wasn’t to be for Leek as we went out 4-5.

To say we are proud of these young lads is an understatement there’s some real talent in this squad 3 lads who are just 16 years old competing with a team who sits 2nd in the league along with a couple of debutants who played their first game for the club and it’s one of those first timers who gets man of the match this week, Kayne Baggley, take a bow mate a gritty performance from start to finish 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Leek Town 5-2 Milton UTD

We started really well and found ourselves 1-0 up early doors through Brayden Barlow it could have been 2 if we converted the penalty but that wasn’t to be, Ever present and last nights captain Tom Harrison went down with what looked like a nasty knee injury and unfortunately had go off it was at that moment the game changed, Milton Broke and we found ourselves level, we were all sixes and sevens at this point with each of the lads playing for themselves which ultimately cost us another goal, loosing the ball up top and putting ourselves under more pressure Leek 1-2 Milton.
Milton had a good 20 minute spell and we just couldn’t get the ball down and play, it was Dan Harrison who kept us in it with the lead up to half time, I’ve got to say it’s one of the best saves I’ve seen at this level 🤩 WOW Take a bow Danny!
A few harsh words of motivation at half time and we were a totally different side passing creating chances and it’s didn’t take long for Bray to bring us level, then it was super sub Will stanyer to take us in the lead, the chances kept coming and Sam Baber and Will Stanyer making it 5, ironic really that Will comes on and scores a brace, 30 mins before KO he was sat at the Hardman centre wondering where everyone was 😂🤦🏼
Mentions this week, Bobby Wright, Brayden, Stanners all immense, new signing Jack Hankin who played his first league game for us after returning from a 6 week holiday 😂Dan for That worldly of a save, everyone played their part in the 2nd half but Harry Motley was top draw and gets MOTM, worked hard all game and was instrumental in our come back. Well done H 👏🏻

A rough result to take, arguably the better team in the first half and more clinical in front of goal we would have been in the lead but credit to Audley, came out strong and put us under pressure in the second half and won a penalty which after then we failed to get on top of the play. Score line is a bit harsh. Some decent performances and one to mention from debutant and 16 year old Centre half Shay Merridith, was immense at the back, MOTM goes to Merril Ampofo, Score to get us back on level terms and was lively throughout.

Our mid week fixture ended in a draw against Ashbourne, disappointing to say the least,
Great debut by Sam barber and 2 great goals from Sam and Reuben, absolutely cruising at 2-0 but once again decisions from men in charge costing us dearly.

1st Home win of the season for the blues!
A well deserved 3 points were won last night as we defeated AFC Alsager 3–1.
We did our best to give them some
Chances early on but finally settled down when Brayden Barlow made it 1-0. We stayed on top throughout the half, there’s always a bit of nervousness with just been a goal in front but it was Brayden again doubling our lead with a tremendous volley from just outside the box which fired into the opposite corner.
We came out a lot brighter in the 2nd half moving the ball quicker and were causing problems from the off, 2nd half Sub Kiru Assegid picked the ball up from our left and cut in side to pop one straight in the top corner to make it 3-0 2 top draw goals scored tonight! We managed the game well however Alsager pulled one back which in itself was an absolute worldy!

Some strong performances across the team Harry H, Kiru, All the lads were top draw but for us and those 2 Goals it goes to Brayden, he has been class since the start of the season, work rate, attitude are first class 👌🏻
