Fantastic feedback for our u13 girls -Raiders today in their first friendly of the season against Ovenden wildcats today.
We travelled the 45 mins (ish) over to Halifax where we were met with a great bunch of girls with some fantastic technical abilities. Both sets of coaches praising their opponents with some great goals and fantastic strikes and saves.
The results didn’t go our way today but it was the start of something special with some new girls joining the team and settling in perfectly.
It’s going to be a fantastic season for the Raiders this year 💪🏼

Ovenden west riding Vs methley raiders

Today ovenden west riding hosted methley raiders. The game was played in high spirits with end to end action from both teams showing amazing football.
Both teams playing respectfully together if a foul was committed going on consoling the player and constantly checking on one and another. Both coaches showing nothing but praise and positive support on the sideline and a massive support from both teams parents.

The girls played really well together and was even cracking a few jokes with one and other showing great sportsmanship on the Feild.

I wanna give a massive shout out to Mellissa and her methley raiders girls for a fantastic game and displaying what grassroots football is all about playing in a friendly positive manner and showing nothing but respect for one and other and respect towards officials. And also to all the parents in attendance displaying a positive attitude and cheering both teams on.

Seacroft Eagles 1-3 Methley United Tigers

First game at U12s didn't go so bad

A really well controlled performance from the Tigers in their first friendly of the new season

Seacroft played 4 leagues above us last season and next season they are 1 league above

Tigers moved the ball well and dominated large parts of the game, although Billy was called into action a few times and was outstanding in his first game back after 18 months out through injury

2 goals from last seasons top scorer, Charlie and a well taken strike from Reuben did the damage but it was definitely a team performance that did the trick

Wonderful pockets of passing and great energy all over the park today

Coaches MOM was Parker - tirelessly unselfish and set the tone, I asked for players to step up and be captain material today, he certainly did

Ideally FA qualified (or willing to work towards it).

Your skills could make a real impact on the young people in your community.

At Methley United AFC, we're looking for people like you to help us run our club, support our volunteers and achieve our ambition of making football something that everyone should be able to enjoy.

You don't need to be a football expert. You might have experience in leadership, organisation, communication, facilities or maintenance — or simply be someone who wants to get stuck in and help.

We're currently looking for volunteers for:

Vice Chair – 2 vacancies
Rugby Liaison Officer
Pitches & Grounds Coordinator
Goals & Equipment Maintenance Volunteers – multiple volunteers welcome
Disciplinary Officers – 2 vacancies
Coach Development Officers – 2 vacancies

We're also always looking for new coaches to join our coaching team and help give more children and young people the opportunity to play, develop and enjoy football.

Some roles require just an hour or two a week, and every contribution helps us provide more opportunities, better experiences and a stronger club for our players and families.
