HELLO all you lovely people, we hope you’ve enjoyed LUSC’s jam-packed first term. We went to the Sheffield Shuffle, we hosted our infamous Leeds Howler and had a cold but enjoyable weekend at the Brummy Boom - where we had more snowball fights than races .
** Social Sailing **
The social sailors have been at it this term too - absolutely crushing it on the very windy GIAG! With the Xenons up and running at the start of the year, we’ve been treated to some large, modern boats to train in. With a few beautiful days at West Riding, making the most of the early sunsets and sailing through golden hour, it’s been a brilliant term. Go check out the photos on our Instagram.

** 707’s **
Autumn Series:
Despite adverse weather conditions we managed to take part in SYC’s Autumn series, whilst not getting a podium place, we managed to get loads of new members on the 707 and training to be more competitive and experienced on any Keelboat and Yachting in the future! We will continue in the New Year with the Winter series and more development dates for those who haven’t done as much sailing before!
How to get involved:
If you’re keen to go to Scarborough and sail on our Keelboat (called Bruce T) next term please email: [email protected] with any keelboating / big boat experience you have. If you don't have any experience (yet) please email anyway so we know who is keen to partake!
** Socials **
Socials this term were a great success, despite some questionable venues () we managed to have a great time dressing up as pirates, sampling some of Horsforth Brewery’s finest, and fridge-2-fridging with Surf Soc. We even got to squeeze in a wholesome afternoon climbing followed by a meal at Nan’s Thai.
Next term we look forward to doing more with Horsforth, reviving the famous LUSC Otley run, and having loads more fun.
** PR and Spon **
Keep your eyeballs peeled for LUSC Merch coming this term. Due to popular demand we will be bringing back our dear friend Jess Hodge’s designs. Student loan is dropping soon so put aside ~ £10 in order to cop a t-shirt.
