Match day 3!

Last weekend, we made the mammoth journey over to Wetherby, to face Kirk Deighton Rangers JFC.

The first 15 minutes was excellent from ourselves, constantly threatening with attacks & looking very sharp going forward. Kirk Deighton defended brilliantly, making sure we they didn’t concede.

Kirk Deighton did open the scoring 25 minutes in, a long ball and smart counter attack caught us out, resulting in a goal for them.

We didn’t stay behind for long, grabbing an equaliser five minutes later. A brilliant corner from Brandon found Demi in space, for him to stab home a shot from close range.
HT: 1-1

The second half was a frantic half of football. Both teams constantly having a go at each other, playing smart football & making sure both defences stayed switched on.
Toby producing some outstanding saves & taking a few knocks for the team.
Our attacking build up play was excellent too, Samuel on his debut speeding past players & linking up well with his teammates. Unfortunately we fell just short with our finishes but our attacking players were electric & hungry for goals.

The last five minutes, we were relentless. With the game been 1-1, it looked set to finish that until the last five minutes. We kicked up a gear and attacked relentlessly.
That paid off! Last 30 seconds, Ahmed picked the ball up at cb & just ran. Taking on half the team, he found himself on the right wing around 25yrds out. Looking up he saw the keeper off his line & unleashed a powerful shot, catching the keeper out & winning the game, with the last kick of the game!
FT: 1-2

Every player gave 100% & should be proud of their performance. They wanted to put the last two weeks behind them & kick start their season, they did just that.
Absolutely warrior performances from all of them 💪🏻

POTM: Demi 🏆👏🏻
Demi made his presence felt all over the pitch during the game. Constantly applying pressure, winning duels, setting up the wingers & firing off some quality shots.

A massive thank you to Motorpoint Leeds for sponsoring our away kit & training tops this season 🩷

We return to home action this weekend against Leeds City Juniors Colts.

Match day 2!

First home game of the season & we played at the brand new Leisure hub, in Woodhall.

Another new kit on show, this time it was our stunning home kit. Generously sponsored by Renov8 automotive solutions. A classy black and red striped kit, with bold gold numbers on the back.
Full squad & individual photos to come soon!

We hosted Horsforth JFC, a team we’ve played many times before.

A very well balanced first fifteen minutes with both teams looking like they could get a goal. Unfortunately for us, it was Horsforth that got the first goal.
Our goal in the first half came from Brandon, latching onto a deflected cross-field pass, seeing him go 1v1 vs the keeper. With calmness, Brandon slotted the ball home in the top corner, from a near angle.

The second half started then the first did, seeing us enjoy good possession & some fantastic chances. Unfortunately we just fell short with the end product.
Brandon got our goal in the second half & a double for him. A brilliant back line splitting pass from Ali, saw Brandon racing in on goal from the wing. With confidence, he smashed home another top corner finish.

Ft: 2-11

All the lads did brilliant again, looking stronger than last week & definitely coming together more as a group. We learnt a lot & know what we need to work on in training this week. The lads should be proud of the never give up attitude they all showed 👏🏻

POTM: Toby 🏆👏🏻
A resilient performance from Toby in net, chucking himself towards everything & producing some fantastic saves. A real confident display & a game where you could really see his development, he’s made.

A massive thank you to Renov8 automotive solutions for their continued sponsorship of our home kits.

Our next game is this Sunday, away to Kirk Deighton Rangers JFC.

Match day 1

Well here we have it, back to Sunday game days!

Firstly, would you look at that kit 😍🩷🦩
For this year, we have a brand spanking new away kit!
With thanks to Motorpoint for their generous sponsorship this year, they’ve become our primary away sponsor, as well as our Training -T-shirts.

Today, we traveled to Garforth Rangers for our first game in division 6. A real test for the lads after getting promoted 2 divisions & going against an established division 6 side.

The main objective for the lads was to enjoy it, don’t dwell on mistakes & have fun.
Garforth played some great football, giving us a great game.
We had some great spells during the game, enjoying possession & building some great attacking phases.

We unfortunately ran out on the end of a 9-1 loss. Ahmed grabbing our only goal through some great pressure work on their defence.
All the lads should be proud of today’s performance, it’s never easy having a bare 11, but they gave their all.

We move onto training on Friday, then to our next league game, at home on Sunday.

POTM: 🏆 Thomas
A fantastic debut for Thomas who was confident & resilient in defence today. Making important challenges & cutting out many of Garforth Rangers long ball threats.

First game of pre season for the lads today ⚽️⚽️

It’s been a while, but it felt good to be back.
We played a strong Leeds Juniors Barca Side, who gave us a great game. Lots of learning points gained from the game & valuable minutes in the tanks for the lads.
Quite a few new players playing their first game today, also having a few from U13’s blacks playing too.

Thank you to Leeds Juniors for the game, best of luck with the season.
We have a quick turnaround as we play again tomorrow evening, against FSC Academy at home.
