Crossgates Harriers Running Club - Public Page A small friendly running club based in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

We train on Wednesday evenings where we run from The Springs in Crossgates (weds)

Mon club training- 6.30-7.30pm TN track in summer
Tues - walking group 7pm
Wed club run all club - from 7pm

Yesterday saw our second club Championship race at the hilly and hard Morley 10k. Guess which pictures were taken at the start where it was all smiles until the elevation gain kicked in? Two races in and it’s literally single points between our leaderboard so all to play for with our third one in November… 👟

🎨 CROSSGATES COMMUNITY PROJECT 🎨

We’ve teamed up with local councillors to give the Crossgates gates a fresh new look!🖌️

As we celebrate our 40th birthday we wanted to mark the occasion by giving something back to the community we’ve been part of for so many years.
Following feedback we’ve been given the go ahead to paint them yellow, white and blue. We’re meeting this Sunday at 10am if anyone wants to get involved and we can’t wait to show you what a difference it’ll make 💛🤍💙

⭐️HARRIERS HIGHLIGHTS - SEPTEMBER ⭐️

With the start of winter routes the darker nights are drawing in but that hasn’t meant we’ve stepped back with another busy month for the Harriers. Plenty of park runs on tour in Kyoto, Brierley Forest, Ormeau, Nobles (which included an overnight ferry) and a homemade Spanish one. Leeds Country Way, track sessions, an actual group 1 and 2 club picture (it needs mentioning!), our first club Championship race at Cas 10k, Great North Run, Oslo Hyrox, Recovery Runners Community Run, Humber Coastal 10k, matching Mecca on club night, GNR famous, graduation of our improvers and a tour of Lucerne for club monkey 🐵

🏆❤️🖤 SHE’S ONLY GONE AND WON!!! 🖤❤️🏆

We are absolutely over the moon to announce that our very own Claire has WON the Unsung Hero Award at the England Athletics Regional Volunteer Awards! 🎉🥳

There honestly couldn’t be a more deserving person. Claire gives so much of her time, energy and heart to Crossgates Harriers, supporting our runners, leading Couch to 5k, encouraging people to achieve their goals and going above and beyond to support our local community by organising Easter egg and toy appeals, food bank and local church donation runs. ❤️

What started as helping people with their running has grown into so much more, and Claire has played such a huge part in making our club the welcoming, supportive and community-focused club that it is today.

We are incredibly proud of you and so privileged to have you as part of our Harriers family.

🦉LEEDS COUNTRY WAY🦉

What a day. A highlight in the club running calendar every year 👟

4 teams + 6 legs + 1 baton round = many amazing harriers. As always thank you Kippax Harriers for organising such a great day. We are incredibly proud of the sea of red we created and it was an absolutely brilliant day with lots of exciting moments and so much fun. We had members running, cheering, taking photos, taxi-ing people around and simply supporting from the sidelines and you know when the pub runs out of Guinness we’ve refuelled well too 😂

Huge congratulations to Team 1, who got the baton all the way around. What an incredible achievement, showing such grit, determination and true team spirit.
And congratulations to everyone who smashed out PBs, achieved leg wins and club wins. We had teams getting the baton round with literally seconds to spare before the mass start. Also special mention to Lindsay and Richard who bagged the fastest mixed pair award - just amazing. You are all incredible 👏🏻

Team Harriers — you were brilliant. What a team, what a club, what a day!! ❤️
