End of an era,
As many of you know, from September there will be changes to how Squash & Racketball is run at the club. All coaching will move in-house, and applications have recently closed for the newly created Squash & Racketball Manager role.
After a great deal of thought, I’ve made the very difficult decision not to apply for the role. This means that at the end of the summer term, CAS Academy will come to a close and I will no longer be running the junior programme at the club.
I’m incredibly sad to be writing this. Over the past 12 years, I’ve built the Academy from the ground up. When I first started, we had fewer than 10 juniors at the club. I am immensely proud of what I've created, and of all the juniors and parents who have made the Academy such a special community.
Chapel Allerton has been my second home since I was born — I’m practically part of the furniture — so I’m certainly not disappearing completely! I really hope to stay involved in some capacity and to support both the club in its new era and the new Squash & Racketball Manager. At the very least, I’ll be bringing my sons down to play squash (and probably every other sport the club has to offer!).
Now for the important bit — there will be a BIG CELEBRATION (a leaving do!) on Saturday 27th June from 2pm onwards. Please save the date. Details are to follow, but I’m planning some fun squash activities, followed by food, drinks and live music. I would absolutely love to see as many of you there as possible — juniors past and present, parents and families past and present, coaches, and anyone else who has been part of this amazing journey. It would truly mean so much to have everyone together.
Junior coaching will continue as normal over the next two terms, and I’ll keep you updated as much as possible about the changes coming in September.
Thank you all so much for your support over the years.
