A Made to Measure Drysuit Direct from the Factory! Seaskin Custom Drysuits
Buying your dry suit direct from a drysuit manufacturer makes sense in many ways, for example:
* The drysuit will be made to fit you, not the 'euro average' person.
* Your drysuit will have all the features and extras you require, with no unnecessary pockets and flaps to get in the way.
* The cost of the drysuit will be dr

astically reduced with fewer people in the supply chain to push up overhead costs.
* Seaskin can service and repair the drysuit, usually in a few days, so you miss fewer dives.
* The reassurance that your drysuit has been fully developed by divers who dive the conditions you dive in. Click on "products" and see the Seaskin Custom Drysuit range. Ours is not only the best price for a made-to-measure dry suit, but it is also built to the highest specification we currently produce in our factory. The company also manufactures:
- military drysuits
- fire service drysuits
- commercial divers' drysuits
- dive school drysuits
- rescue service drysuits
- thermal undersuits for drysuits
- drysuit accessories
We can also repair all makes of drysuit. You can be assured that every Seaskin Drysuit is handmade in the UK to your exact requirements by people that care about your order and are passionate about diving.

The fear of spending less???
The second question we get asked after “which dryglove system…” is “why are your drysuits considerably less expensive?”. The answer – “maths”
You want to buy a drysuit from us with all the features you have always dreamt of and it works out to be £1200.
That’s £1000 before tax and you get your made to measure dream drysuit and we make enough money on it to keep the lights on. Most other drysuits are not bought directly from the factory in which they are made. That factory, probably sensibly placed in a country where production costs are much lower than here in the UK, sell it to one of our much loved global dive brands. They sell it to one of their regional distributors, they sell it to your local dive shop, they sell it to you. This is where the maths comes in, everyone rightly needs to make a profit on that sale.
So a standard sized suit produced with cheaper labour might only “cost” £700
The Brand adds a margin, x35%(?) = £945
Plus the Distributor’s margin x35%(?) = £1275
Plus the Retailer’s margin x35%(?) = £1722
Sold to you, including sales tax = £2066 (you could spend +£3000!)
You have saved £866 and have got a made to measure drysuit to your exact personal specification. Could not be an easier choice right? Maybe not, because even us simple divers are subject to the psychology around purchasing. We are unconsciously believe if we are spending less we are getting less – this YouTube short from the marketing legend Rory Sutherland explains it brilliantly.
Remember the Seaskin drysuit actually costs MORE to manufacture!!

Rory Sutherland discusses why when there is a product that is cheaper and better than another product neither sell. Sutherland is marketing and advertising e...

Shopping from the USA? Here's What to Know About Import Duties for a Drysuit
You might be wondering about US importation duties and taxes. We've created a straightforward guide to help you understand what to expect—so there are no surprises when your gear arrives.
Read the full blog post here: https://seaskin.co.uk/blog/heads-up-for-our-u-s-customers-looking-to-buy-a-seaskin-drysuit/
This post explains our understanding of how US customs handle drysuit imports, what fees may apply, and how we support you through the process.
We believe in clarity, not confusion.

Due to recent changes in U.S. import policy, a 10% base tariff now applies to most UK-origin goods — including our premium drysuits.

Thinking about a new diving drysuit?
We have posted a new blog article on a couple of often overlooked issues that you should consider when making your choice.

To put you out of your suspense, it’s the fabric membrane and the seam construction, yep not very sexy. The fabric membrane is the film or coating that is actually keeping the water out, the two fabric elements are there to protect that membrane from abrasion and puncture, important but not as imp...
