On 20th June, we come together not just to play hockey, but to celebrate the life of Tom Liptrot – a friend, teammate, and a truly unforgettable part of our club family.
Tom’s passion, kindness, humour, and dedication left a mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit continues to live on in the memories we share, the friendships he built, and the community he helped create.
We invite everyone to join us for a day of hockey, remembrance, and togetherness as we honour Tom in the best way we know how – surrounded by the people and the game he loved.
Matches begin from 12:00 with a full afternoon of fixtures, followed by speeches, socialising, and evening drinks.
From 5pm, we’ll be gathering at Head of Steam, Headingley, where a dedicated room has been reserved for everyone attending. Food will also be available on request, and we’d love to see as many people there as possible to share stories, raise a glass, and remember Tom together.
All player match fees and raffle proceeds will be donated to Yorkshire Cancer Research, supporting a cause that means so much and ensuring Tom’s legacy continues to make a difference.
Whether you knew Tom for years, only crossed paths with him once, or never had the chance to meet him at all, your presence will help make this a truly special day. By coming along, you’ll not only be celebrating a life that meant so much to so many, but also supporting your teammates, friends, and the wider club family as we come together to remember one of our own. Every face in the crowd is a reminder of the community Tom helped build, and everyone is welcome.
We hope to see as many faces as possible.
