Ash Oates is a volunteer grassroots coach at Holbeck Moor JFC, Manger and coach of our U11 Storm Girls team, Alongside this he is also a player for Morley Town AFC.

Yesterday Saturday 26th September after coaching his U11 girls team he lined up to play for Morley Town AFC in their latest league match. 10 Minutes into the game as Ash was about to score an unfortunate incident took place with the goalkeeper of the opponents which led to serious career threatening injury to Ash. Sadly this led to a compound break of Ash's leg, a 2 hour wait for an ambulance where he will now remain in hospital and go through emergency surgery to repair his leg. Ash will now face a tough path of recovery and rehab.

Ash is a family man with his lovely wife Gemma and his 3 kids who all play football for their respective teams at Holbeck, With an injury like this it will also impact his ability to do many daily tasks at first, will obviously be off work while he recovers and with Christmas just around the corner we want to be able to support the family as best we can to reduce the financial burden and worry.

So were asking for the grassroots community to help us to raise as much money as we can to support this family. No matter the amount all donations will be greatly appreciated

A shout out that’s been needed for a while!

Our Super Mums… our Kitchen Queens… the unsung heroes of Grassroots

Every weekend without fail, they come together to keep our kitchen at Lane End going (along side our Chairman Russ) to enable to club to raise much needed funds but to also feel all those appetites of the little (& big ones) after a busy training session or match!

Whilst their husbands are busy coaching or helping around the club in other ways, these ladies swap their Dry Robes for Kitchen Utensils!

Without these amazing people we wouldn’t be able to raise so much money!

The past 2 days alone we have raised over £300 from their amazing hard work and dedication!

Showing again how much a club can do when volunteers come together!

This is also a huge reason why these lovely ladies attended the Grassroots Awards a few weeks ago, because without them, it wouldn’t be possible to raise so much money!

A massive thank you to Muna, Sarah, Steff, Vicki & Emma… and all those who pop in every now and again to lend a hand!

As a club WE THANK YOU

💚⚽️🖤

Friday Night is Hotdog & Chips!!

Due to the amount of children training we are running the kitchen on a Friday night where we will be serving Hotdogs and Chips for all, but once they are gone there gone and they do sell out pretty quick!!

Saturday Morning Training

It's all about the Bacon and Sausages, once again the kitchen will be running serving the usual sandwiches for breakfast again these sell out and we have 2 games on this Saturday so please be mindful if you're wanting one

Serving all the usual warm drinks and comfy drinks with new additions this weekend.

It's going to be a busy one, remember all money raised goes back onto the kids of the club for example today we have just spent £750 on some more balls for the coaches!! ⚽⚽
