Still reflecting on an extraordinary evening at the Hope Awards, hosted by the wonderful HelloHope
To be in a room surrounded by so many beautiful souls, people who have faced unimaginable difficulties and chosen to turn that pain into love, light, and tangible support for others, was an experience that will stay with me for a very long time.
While I didnโt take home the Inspiring Individual award, simply being named a finalist alongside such remarkable human beings is deeply validating and profoundly humbling. Standing shoulder to shoulder with people doing such selfless, transformative work made me realise that recognition isnโt about a trophy; itโs about knowing your journey and your heart are seen. ๐
Hearing the stories of what people are doing, both right here in Leeds and from communities far beyond, to lift up those most in need sparked so much inspiration in me. It was also wonderful to have Deputy Lieutenant Yvonne Stocks DL there to open the ceremony and champion the community. Having that kind of presence in the room really underscored just how valuable this work is.
More than anything, the evening genuinely restored a piece of my hope for the future. When the world feels heavy, rooms like that prove there is still so much goodness fighting through. ๐
A huge, heartfelt thank you to Ellie for having the vision, kindness, and dedication to create these awards. Recognising this kind of work matters more than words can say.
Iโm walking away with a full heart, renewed purpose, and endless gratitude just to have been a part of it. ๐โจ
