⚽ Scorer: Salam
⭐ MOTM: Simi

Two points dropped at West Riding County FA as missed chances prove costly.

After a slow opening 10 minutes, we took control of the game, playing some excellent football and creating enough chances to be four or five goals ahead at the break.

Salam gave us a deserved lead, but we failed to build on it.

The second half saw us lose control of midfield, drop deeper and invite unnecessary pressure. Despite PE United not registering a shot on target until the 75th minute, they eventually found an equaliser.

Credit to PE United for battling until the end.

A frustrating result given our dominance for large periods, but we need to be more ruthless in front of goal and manage games better when ahead.

Special mention to Simi for another excellent midfield performance.

Attention now turns to Saturday’s quarter-final against Carlton, where we’ll be looking for a response.

⚽️Nathan L 🤝 Theo
MOTM:- James

In our 4th League game as a brand new squad: We hosted early league leaders Ventus who have won 3 out of 3.

A youthful squad that had 12 players under the age of 19 & Marvellous made his debut after doing well in a Friendly vs Brighouse Midweek.

First Half:- We showed confidence on the ball & looked to play positive football. Off the ball in the opening 10-15 mins were a slow to adapt to our opponents. We gave away a lot of free-kicks around our 18 yard box & struggled to deal with their forward.
Two Freekick scenarios around our box lead to us conceding twice.
The response to going 2-0 down was very good & a change which saw Nathan Legre come on & make an immediate impact.
We played out from the back - James, Samuel & JP linking up well. Nathan L came short & then looked to go in behind whilst JP found Theo.
Theo pinned the centre back turned him & slipped in the Joining Nathan L who rounded the move off with a good finish. 1-2

HT - We felt we were definitely in the game but as a group frustrated by the two goal start we gave our opponents
second half - A very good half where both teams attacked positively. We kept a clean sheet which was great but couldn’t get the equaliser - Leo probably had the best chance but the keeper made a good save & then Nathan T just missed on the follow up which may have given us a deserved equaliser.
Today shows that there is not much between us & the top of the league so that is a positive.
If we tighten up a bit we will be very competitive in the Championship this season.
Overall a decent performance against an Established team who will be hoping from promotion into the YAL premier next season.

⚽ Salam
⚽ Beggs
⚽⚽ Olly

Now that’s more like it.

The boys showed up yesterday against last season’s league champions and, from 1–16, we were on fire.

It didn’t take us long to get into our stride and we looked a threat down both wings from the off.

The opener came through some brilliant work from Caleb, who released Salam. With the Berry Brow keeper rushing out, Salam kept his composure and produced a lovely lob to put us 1–0 up.

In truth, we probably should have had two or three more before we eventually doubled the lead.

Aaron delivered a great corner towards the front post, where Beggs met it and glanced his header past the keeper.

HT: Berry Brow 0–2 Ammers

The message at half-time was simple: keep doing what we were doing, move the ball a little quicker and the goals would come.

We made a couple of changes and continued to control the game, with Olly getting himself on the scoresheet twice to put the game beyond doubt and make it 4–0.

It probably should have been more with the chances we created, but a clean sheet, four goals and an excellent performance against last season’s champions is a very good afternoon’s work.

Most importantly, from 1–16, everyone played their part today. The intensity, attitude and quality were there from the first whistle to the last.

FT: Berry Brow 0–4 Yorkshire Ammers SU FC

That’s the standard. Now we build on it.
