✅ 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗣𝗦 𝟵𝟮 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺 𝟭𝟬 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 ✅

On Saturday we made it 7 wins out of 10 with a comfortable 74 run win over Scholes Cricket Club.

It was a once in a blue moon moment as Dewhirst elected to bat first away at Scholes. Jake Wright led the charge striking a 30 ball 50 on his way to 92 (64) with 4 maximums. Most of the lads got starts but none kicked on as we were 208ao inside 38 overs - perhaps 50 under par?

Liam Fox struck in the first over and it was fairly plain sailing from thereon against a very lively Scholes side. Adam Rothera returned to lead the line once again ending with 4/49 from his 12 and Liam Fox 3/38 from his 12. They set the tone bowling 12 through apiece leaving Scholes lineup in tatters, 134 all out.

We still sit 3rd in the table with one game to go before we hit the halfway mark. See you Saturday for the next club social night - BBQ / Race Night / England v Panama ⚽️☀️

This weekend we travel to Scholes in a 3rd vs 6th clash, with only 6 points separating the sides.

We have not played Scholes since our days in the Wetherby League over 10 years ago, so we look forward to this trip. Our squad is strong and just one change from last weeks win over Selby.

A 6th 10 point Saturday of the season as we cruise to a 7 wicket win against Selby Cricket Club

Winning the toss once again, we elected to field first after the deluge of rain last week. Early inroads left Selby 28/2 (13) but then Selby dug in and showed some character as we were made to work hard with the ball and in the field. Connah Casey starred with the ball, turning it square and finishing with 4/49 from his 12. Selby worked hard to 156/7 from their 45 overs - a great fielding performance from us as we felt they were atleast 50 short.

Ware bounced back from a couple of disappointing knocks blitzing the ball to all parts for an exceptional 73 (105) with 3 monster sixes. Ably supported by Andrew Kelly 35 (31) and Jake Wright 29* (21) we cruised home with 7 wickets in hand and 12 overs remaining.

A stellar performance all round which sees us return to winning ways and propels us back to 3rd place in Division 2.

On Saturday we host Selby Cricket Club at Claypit Lane, as we look to return to winning ways after 3 losses on the spin.

We haven’t played Selby for a few years now as their 1s have progressed through the ranks but we look forward to seeing some familiar faces in their 2nd XI.
