It's my birthday, so no work for me today! However, I thought I would show you a few different things that you can paint using dot mandala techniques. Most people start off learning dotting techniques with a round mandala, like the first fiery coloured picture in the video.
But mandala's don't stop there, the second picture shows a combination of mandala's in purple, turquoise, green and silver. Inspired by wallpaper my parents had in our living room in the 1970's. The painting only has one layer of dots for each circle, but it is still an effective pattern.
In the third picture I have used a dotting technique in shades of green to depict a pond, and the stone around the edge of the pond. I then added the painted water lily in the middle, and lily pads with painted water drops.
