Yesterday, we began our Hardball Pair competition with a lovely group of ladies visiting from Chipping Campden.

Langford fielded first, taking 7 wickets. Some fabulous wickets were taken with some impressive bowling and the fielding was on point all round.

The battling was entertaining. Strong opening and closing pairs and steady middle pairs. We had good communication between the wickets and lots of tap and runs making for an enjoyable watch. Emily scored 26, with 4 fours, off 15 balls.

A really impressive team performance and a great start to the season!

Score
Langford 160/3
Chipping Campden 87/7

** MATCH RESULTS **

4 wins for the senior sides this weekend. A dominating displaying in Gloucester for the 1s with Ian leading with the ball and then Tino and Spadger dominating with the bat.

A solid all round display from the 2s, with Jimmy Hew leading the way with the stick then younger brother Tommy leading it with the ball. Some good performances all round.

The 3s had an outstanding victory after being bowled out for a below par 131. Andoversford were 130/6 before skipper O Holland cleaned up at the end finishing with figures of 6/10.

Sunday was the next round of the VKO, and another win for the lads. Nathan, Stevo, Fred and Tino with the ball and then Tino, Fred and Bicker contributing to get us over the line. We are away to Horspath in 2 weeks time for the regional final.

Last Thursday our own Melissa, Gemma and Lucy made their debut for Gloucestershire Seniors Women. A huge achievement for them all. Gemma was in her safe place behind the stumps and Mel and Lucy helping with the bowling, with Lucy bowing 6 overs, only conceding 19 runs and taking an impressive 2 wickets! It’s a pleasure to play along side these talented ladies!

If you feel inspired Ladies training is on Wednesday at 6pm @ Langford CC

** MATCH RESULTS **

Apologies for missing last week, shadmin once again from me.

Mixed results across the board this week, the 1s having what ended up to be an amazing match after being 97/7. M Bicker and Jezza seeing it home for the boys. 2s had a bad day at the office against a strong Hatherley side. The 3s were unlucky with the rain and it ended up being called off, some notable performances across the board.

To summarise the previous week:
1s lost to Chipping Campden 1s
2s won at home to Lechlade 1s
3s lost to Cirencester 3s
1s won in the VKO against Oxford Downs

Next week:
1s vs Gloucester (A)
2s vs Gloucester (H)
3s vs Andoversford (H)
VKO vs Cropredy CC (A)
Women’s vs Painswick (H)

** WEEKLY ROUNDUP **

Mixed bag of results this week with rain affected games on Saturday. 1s were close to a win with just 4.1 overs needed to play to constitute a game. 2s and 3s struggled on the away journeys with a few notable performances with the ball.

Sunday was our first hosted WEPL T20 triangular. It ended up being a lovely day for all involved. The lads were happy with the results and congratulations to for the double win on the day. Two close games and a good crowd throughout it. Many thanks to the Causals pros Gilo and James for stepping in for the final game as a couple of our boys went out injured after the first game.

Looking ahead to next week, the 1s have Chipping Campden (A), the 2s have local rivals Lechlade (H), and the 3s also have a local game with Cirencester (A).
