Our very own Antipodean Shaun, is not only an excellent Green Keeper but also a fully trained chef.

Initially Shaun came to UK to further his career as a chef but unfortunately (or fortunately for us) he arrived just before lockdown and like many people he had to rethink his plans.

Due to his family background in farming he secured a place as a Green Keeper at Beaverbrook and this reignited his passion for working outside and on the land.

Shaun then decided he wanted a bigger a challenge and after hearing about our exiting plans he decided to join our fantastic Green Keeping team at The Leatherhead Club.

Resolving historic drainage issues was was a huge priority during the summer. Despite 238mm of rain during November our golf course is looking great and remained open when other courses were closed.

We are incredibly proud of our Green Keeping Team whose very early starts, come rain or shine, have enabled our course to stay open during the wettest of weeks.

The investment and time in the sand banding, ditch and irrigation projects have now started to pay massive dividends, not just keeping the course open but keeping shoes and trousers mud free, well nearly.

We are excited to announce that The Club has new ownership. These successful local business people, don't see themselves as owners but more custodians of this historic property. Their ambitions are not just to see this wonderful club restored back to its former glory, but to develop it further so it can sit alongside some of the best clubs in the area, with facilities to match!

We are introducing a new vision. A relaxed, understated country chic ambience that will move away from a traditional golf club atmosphere, while still keeping the core values that have made golf such an iconic sporting game.

From the very start of this journey, we're putting our members, old and new, at the heart of everything we do. So we encourage you to follow, share and come on this adventure with us.

We are not a golf club for members. We're a members club for golf. The Leatherhead Club, 120 Years In The Making!
