β˜€οΈ What a beautiful, sunny morning for the monthly working party! β˜€οΈ
The team have been working hard on spreading wood chippings from the top gate along the main path, along the hill. Many, many wheelbarrow loads making their way UPHILL. And many, many rosey cheeks! A little bit of tree identification and home for a well earned rest.
Come and join us next time! It’s great for your physical and mental health and there are tasks suitable for all. You don’t need to be an expert. We are all enjoying learning all the time πŸ’š

Are you thinking of burning off some of those mince pies? We can help!

We invite you to join us at our woodland working party this Sunday, January 9th, 9.30 - 11.30 for some gentle exercise, your nature fix and fun!

We will be undertaking light woodland management tasks and always value the support of our community of volunteers. We couldn’t look after the woodland without you!

If you would like to come along, we meet inside the top gate to the woodland along Bury Road. Feel free to message us if you have any questions.

Hope to see you there 🌳

Happy new year to all of our woodland friends! Here’s to a 2022 filled with hope, joy and lots of woodland walks!πŸ’šπŸŒ³πŸŒŽ

Do you know your trees? How can we identify them in wintertime? Have a look here… 🌳🌳🌳

Bare winter trees can be tricky to identify. But there are clues in their twigs, buds and silhouettes. Test your knowledge and learn how to do it.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year - from all of us at Lavenham Woodland Project πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

We are so thankful to the good folks that came along to the working party, yesterday. There was 12 degrees of winter sun! We had small teams working on installing our shiny, new signs, edging a path in the lower woodland and lots of hard work went into chipping the main path along the railway walk. We enjoyed hot drinks and festive treats around the fire before making our way home for Sunday lunches - feeling good, following our time spent outside in nature and all the health benefits that brings! If you would like to attend our January working party, please send us a message or look out for the posts on Facebook.

You only need a little space for a hedge πŸŒ³πŸŒŽπŸ’š

You don’t need to own lots of land to plant a hedge that will be good for wildlife, people and the planet!

You can have a wildlife hedge in spaces where you may not have room for a large mature tree.

Where you can plant a hedge:

🌱 A few metres along your garden fence, wall or railings if you DO have a garden?
🌱 OR in your school or college grounds?
🌱 OR in the grounds of your community centre, sports site, office block or work site?
🌱 Don’t forget you always need permission from the landowner before planting if it's not your own site.

Have you got somewhere?
