Hey Everyone so asking you all to dig deep and donate for a very special cause.

Emma is going to be running the Amsterdam marathon in 2026 in memory of her big brother Neill for Headway! Neill would have been 30 this year, but tragically lost his life as a result of suffering a traumatic brain injury in April 2023.
Neill was a valued member of the tennis club and one of our best players taken so young 🙏

Mixed A Update - Mid term report

Mixed A have now played six matches, which is half way through our winter league season.
We have won three, drawn one and lost two, leaving us third in the table as things stand.

Sudbury A and Haverhill are the front runners (the two teams that have beaten us)
Four of our remaining six matches are at home, which bodes well for us.

In our most recent match, we beat Braintree 6-0 at home, an excellent result!
The team was Craig and Fi, Jamie and Susannah.

This Monday 17th, we have a bye, so our next match is at home to The Essex on Monday December 1st

Mixed Winter League Update

Mixed A had two away matches on successive days and undefeated.

The Essex 3 - 3 Lavenham A
Playing indoors on acrylic, we took a while to adapt to the surface, losing both opening sets 7-5.
DT and Louise then won 6-3 while Jamie and Fi also triumphed 7-6.
In round three, DT and Jamie breezed through the men's 6-2 and then watched on as the ladies went to a tie break which they lost 11-9!
A match we could easily have won or lost, but a draw away to The Essex is no bad thing.

Outside on tarmac this time under a full moon
DT and Louise won both sets while Richard and Emma found the going harder and lost both mixed sets
The drama came in the third round. DT and Rich were cruising at 3-0, while the girls were struggling at 0-4.
Would there be a comeback? Not quite for WB but yes for us as we won both sets 7-5.
Tremendous effort by the ladies to achieve a win.
Phoebe the dog wagged her tail and went for a walk, having no need to howl at the moon.

We'll be holding social tennis sessions on Monday mornings starting at 9.30am this coming Monday 15th September.

Hey everyone ! This coming Sunday, 14th September is Lavenham LTC's annual finals day.

We would love for you to come along and support those who are playing and hopefully enjoy watching some good tennis, lovely refreshments and a chance to catch up/meet with other members. The first final will begin at 11am, with the last final commencing at 5pm. So, you hopefully have a window to pop up for a bit or can clear the decks and join us for the whole thing or something in between the two!

Hi All, message from Josh Mumford whose been at the club since a young lad and recently stepped up to assisting the coaches at the club but is now moving on 🙏 wishing you all the best Josh…..

Dear all,

I am writing to let you know that I have made the decision to leave Lavenham Lawn Tennis Club, with my last day being the 8th of September.

My time at Lavenham has been truly amazing. From starting out as a helper/assistant in my first group session back in 2023 to becoming a fully qualified coach delivering individual lessons and running group sessions myself, I’ve learnt so much and really enjoyed the journey.

I’m very grateful for all the support, encouragement, and opportunities I’ve received along the way, and I will always look back fondly on my time here. This wasn’t an easy decision.

I will miss all of you, and I hope you continue smashing it on the court.
