CELEBRATION OF THE LIFE OF MATT SMITH…..

I know some of us knew Matt well and the family would very much like all who knew him to come and celebrate his life - details below.


VENUE: KERSEY CHURCH

DATE: 20th JUNE

TIME: 11.30am

DRESS: Lorna, Chloe and Sam would like you to wear colours - No black please

PARKING: There is limited parking at the church but we should hear about some additional space before the day.

Good morning, If you were there you know we had a very enjoyable time.

Numbers were a bit lower than hoped for but there were still enough players to make for some good tennis. The weather was perfect and the strawberries were truly scrumptious! Thank you so much, Chris and Sarah Hardingham for supplying them. Sandra made her delicious cakes and Sue Diggins showed a dedication to the day by baking us her wonderful scones even though she wasn't attending! Christopher and Sarah's flapjacks were yummy and a total bonus of the Chairman's classic ones appeared via courier as Kevin could not attend.

Suffice it to say that with such a feast of scones,jam and cream and the other goodies, the players and spectators tucked in some having to put their plates down play!

Oh yes! The Tennis! Everyone was on court most of the time, playing 8 games per session and gaining points for each game won.

The winners of the day were Jill Taylor and Mick Brown who both notched up 16 points each. Well Done!

A REMINDER: The men's senior team were playing yesterday morning and the pavilion back door was found wide open on arrival! I am sure it wasn't one of us but please do check you have locked up both the pavilion and the courts.

Hey Everyone so asking you all to dig deep and donate for a very special cause.

Emma is going to be running the Amsterdam marathon in 2026 in memory of her big brother Neill for Headway! Neill would have been 30 this year, but tragically lost his life as a result of suffering a traumatic brain injury in April 2023.
Neill was a valued member of the tennis club and one of our best players taken so young 🙏
