Saints were on cup duty today in the first round of the Association Trophy where we faced HR Nicolls AFC

The game was an even start but nothing in front of goal. As soon as Saints got there foot on the ball we took control of the game. We took the lead after a Jacob Burgoyne header found its way through to Lewis Mitchell who chipped the keeper to make it 1-0. We soon had a second after a long throw in from Jacob Burgoyne was meet by Kyle Beattie to head home 2-0. Then we had a third, yet again a long though in from Jacob Burgoyne was finished off by George Sephton 3-0. Before half time we had a fourth, a ball into the box was finished off by Louie Craig for his first goal for the club after a scramble on the line 4-0

We start the second half same way we finished the first half. Lewis Mitchell was in on goal but turned and laid the ball off to Josh Paton to finish well past the keeper 5-0.
Within a minute Josh Paton had two, he met a cross from Cameron Thomson and finished well 6-0. We were not finished there, we won a corner which Robbie Anderson took and was met by Joe Dalgarno to head home and make it 7-0

We had a number of other chance’s to make it more but we seen the game out and move into the next round.

The draw took place on Saturday the 5th of September, this was completed by the players at training

By entering the lottery, you are helping us raise much needed funds for St Laurence FC 💛 🖤

The numbers drawn by the players were as follows:

Unfortunately, there were no winners of the jackpot, with 5 numbers matching being the highest chosen by 5 players.

Match Report vs Ellon Thistle FC

Saints got back to winning ways with a good performance at home to Ellon.

A strong first half display saw the Saints dominate down both flanks and from set pieces but failing to take their chances with Slice and Fraser serial culprits.

HT 0-0

Things changed very quickly at the start of the second half, as a nice team move down the right seen a brilliant ball from Macca turned home at the back post by Slice to relieve the frustration.

Almost immediately from kick off a through ball from Macca found Stevie Greig through on goal and he made no mistake with the finish. By minute 54 the game was done when another cross from Macca was turned home by Slice for his 2nd of the afternoon.

Ellon came back into the game and got one back from a corner but the boys held on to see the game out.

A good display at home with lots of nice football on show whilst limiting an energetic Ellon side to little.
