Welcome to Wildriver Forge, Emma.

We’re delighted to welcome Em Swancott as a Wildriver Forge brand ambassador.

For us, choosing the right people to represent Wildriver Forge is about finding people who genuinely understand the world our knives are made for.

Em is an up and coming deer stalker that has gained vast amounts of experience and knowledge in her craft through her genuine connection to the outdoors and an approach to fieldcraft that closely reflects our own — patience, respect for the quarry, continual learning and doing things properly.

That made her a natural fit for Wildriver Forge.

We want our ambassadors to use our knives as they were intended — out in the field, in real conditions, and as part of their everyday stalking. Their experience and honest feedback also play an important part in helping us refine what we make at the forge.

Over the coming months, you’ll see Em putting Wildriver Forge equipment to work and sharing some of her experiences along the way.

We’re delighted to have her as part of Wildriver Forge and looking forward to what comes next.

Another Ericht taking shape in the workshop.

Drilling the pin holes before moving on to the handle work. It’s a simple stage, but getting everything properly positioned now makes all the difference when it comes to fitting and finishing the handle later.

There are a lot of these small steps behind every finished knife — most of which you never see.

The finish doesn’t come from the forge. It comes from the hours afterwards.

Hand sanding the bevel on an Ericht Unzipper, working through the grits with Rhynowet paper and Würth lubricant until every scratch from the previous stage is gone.

It’s slow. It’s repetitive. And there are absolutely no shortcuts.

But this is where a good blade starts to become a finished knife.

Same purpose. Two different personalities.

Hunter Orange G10 with Neon Green Turboglow, or Neon Green G10 with Sunshine Turboglow.

Bright for a reason — put a dark-handled knife down in grass, heather or woodland and it can disappear surprisingly quickly.

The details that make the difference, rarely happen quickly.

Currently I am hand sanding a G10 handle, refining the shape and finish until everything feels right in the hand.

No dramatic sparks today. Just time, patience and plenty of sanding dust.

Because how a knife feels matters every bit as much as how it looks.

It's happening again and I think I'm more excited that I should be with 9 months to go.

You didn't think we'd leave it at one, did you?🔥

When we put on the first Edgy Expo, we honestly had no idea what to expect.

What followed was an incredible day. Talented makers, plenty of familiar faces, loads of new ones, and a level of support that genuinely blew us away.

To every exhibitor who brought their work, every visitor who bought a ticket, and everyone who stopped for a chat, shared a post or told a friend about the show, thank you. The response was far bigger than we ever imagined and proved that there's a real appetite for an event like this.

More than anything, it showed just how strong this community is.⚒️

So, we're doing it again.

A good handle can make all the difference.

Today’s job was shaping these two handles and bringing them a step closer to becoming finished knives. It's always interesting seeing how a knife starts to develop its own character once the handle takes shape.

One is Hunter Orange G10 with TurboGlow Neon Green liners, the other Neon Green G10 with Sunshine TurboGlow liners. Both built to be easy to spot when you're out in the field, but each with its own look.

Personally, I'm struggling to pick a favourite.

Orange and green, or green and orange?
